  1. He seems as confident as he was about Beckford...atleast now we know he has to leave...just he better favour a bigger and better club that has a higher chance of promotion over good football and stability
  2. Pancrate's deal expires this Summer. It was only a "to the end of the season" deal. Aye that's what I meant. Either way he'll be gone, and Ambrose would be a good replacement imo. What I've seen of Ambrose this season hasn't exacly made my heart race, so can't say I've any interest in seeing us splashing money on him if we make it up to the Premiership tbh. He's only scored 11 goals like. A goalscoring midfielder that hasnt played as well as his goals would suggest, Nolan anybody?...
  3. I sat right inline with the goal, in the home end (won the tickets) and i must say, didnt look over the line to me...i was shocked when it was given...as i was when Shola's pen wasnt given...and Ryan's... shocking
  4. Its impossible that both Taylor and Colo will get injured at same time? like was it Scunny and Notts Forest? Aslong as we dont end up with Simpson in the center, im happy...

    We lack athletes!

Simpson is a bit pacey like, but obviously we may not have him anymore...and on the basis of recent performances, would we need him? That being said, better right back for £500,000?
  6. If anyone here went to Preston away or presumeably Ipswich away, you cant argue he has produced some of the better moments this season...but that is sentimentality...and id take promotion of sentimentality atm... Smith has been decent in my view. Ball winner. He is a walking red card and guarenteed yellow every game, but i think it is a very lob-sided midfield...Guthrie is ideal but then we'd have to play Nolan off of someone, and with Shola still regaining fitness, that means Carroll, and neither of them are the 20 goal a season striker that we need at the moment...Lovenkrands is impressing me though, even winning headers and scoring from them. ---------------Smudger---------------- Ryan--------Guthrie---------Jonas-- --------------Nolan----------------- ---------------Loven----------------- though how this will be affected when Barton is back i dont know, as heart would say play him in the centre, but head says Hughton will play him on the right...
  7. Lov looked alot better recently and if he continues after his bereavement, then we have a player of better quality...he knocked in a few goals in the premiership from the wing...and even if you criticise his performances (i didnt rate him THAT highly) then you have to ask what we were looking for in Beckford, owt but goals?
  8. Look where Scunny are now in comparison to Leeds...
  9. Nicky Maynard? i think they have David Clarkson in all but im guesing you mean Maynard? he is a class act like
  10. Ricky Lambert is yet another id quote...there are players that will get goals everywhere in League 1/Championship, lets not get too far onto the Beckford-bandwagon...
  11. btw, can someone justify thinking Beckford is better or has done better than even Mackail-Smith? (to add yet another Peteboro player into the mix) Beckford gets goals in League 1, but so does Mackail Smith, Hooper, Fryatt...what makes Beckford more special apart from playing for Leeds who get more publicity?
  12. Boyd isa bit of a Joe Cole...not really pacey, but goes past players...his passing is excellent and he gets alot of goals considering he isnt an out and out striker... Problem is, im guessing we'd have to accomodate him by dropping Butt/Nolan...not gonna happen under Hughton...which intrigues me as to how Beckford will fit in; Shola----------Beckford------ Jonas Smudge Nolan RyTayl has Hughton ever not played Butt when fully fit?
  13. I dont see Maclean as an ideal player, just a suggestion as i like the holy trinity at Peterboro....George Boyd however i would... Play him behind Shola and he'd break the 20 mark easily. Not only does he get goals, but look at his assists...
  14. And yet we're not in for Aaron Maclean or George Boyd from Peterbrough who are apparently available for same price as Beckford...
  15. Well, as you said we never found out. But one thing that we know is that it seems like Chris Hughton has sorted it out for now. tbf, we did get rid of Duffers, Owen, Beye and Dukes...all 80% made of glass... that being said, Beye wasnt injury prone before he came here...
  16. this we're pretty much sorted for promotion without signing anyone, so lets add some excitement to the side. Though ideally, he scores 10-ish goals, and gets sold in July for decent profit...

    Players in public

West Street, Sheffield...that one is shite... you do get the odd straggler like...
  18. if he is, i think itd say alot about our defence...compared to other weaklinks of the past (Boumsong, Bramble, Colo last season and Cacapa after that Pompey game) then id take that tbh
  19. Krul is showing so much promise for a 21 year old, keepers start to enter peak age (well, the age when they should be regularly playing) at about 25 onwards, so by then he will be number 1 choice, and by the time he enters his proper peak, around 30 or so, he will be well experienced and should be even better. By the way, eveeryone agrees his strength is shot stopping...this is one of the qualities that cant be taught...decision making however can be taught and learnt, rather have it the way round he has it like...
  20. he was but st.ledger changed his mind due to not liking strachen, he went there because of southgate and thought he could learn a lot from him apparently he isnt a smart one like...
  21. he seems to suffer under pressure...Man Utd aside, his past performance in big pressure games (playoffs) has been poor... conversely, he gets lax and doesnt try, maybe we need to light a fire under him in order to get him to put some effort in to nick some goals... 50/50 imo..
  22. Footy Man is how i work it out like...
