I think jonas needs a rest. He keeps possession well but he doesn't seem to have the usual drive to run past players. I don't think he'll ever be able to cross well on a regular basis if he can't already. HBA couldn't come back quick enough

Aye, but they're not paying him anymore. The wages under previous contract usually dictates to an extent the wages under his next employment. Unfortunately in the past we've been an exception to this norm. He'd have likely been on around 5-10k at Twente, which is why I struggle to see him on over 20k here. Part of the reason our scouting system is in place to find this type of player is they wont add a lot to the wage bill. He is not a high profile and would have been happy to simply make the move to the Premier League. He was highly rated within a league winning team and had just started every game in the world cup for his country. Might not of been well known in England but I'm sure he'd of been internationally known by scouts and managers. Kinda agree with you on numbers though, I can't see him being on more than £30kpw. This regime appears to have become quite tight on wages (in a good way)

Seen him play a couple of times at wolves. Really don't rate him very highly. I think he's very similar to shola- not in his style- but the amount of goals he will get for you and also the amount of injuries he tends to pick up. Hes prone to going absent too. I actually think shola is better

There was just something different about last season that I can't quite put my finger on... Alright, lets not judge guthrie when he had an extended run in the team, because it was in the championship. Lets instead judge him on a couple of games after returning from a lengthy injury- only to fking injure himself again. As for smith, yes he was s**** but he was part of that group "leaders" in our team and was deputy captain, so yes guthrie did do well to keep him out. This lad is clearly better than routledge, he should be his replacement not bartons cover (Larsson that is)

tbf i think if you look back to previous performances by guthrie last season when he kept smith out the team, he's decent cover for barton on our buget. It's true that the last couple of games he was awful but you can't judge him on just them games. Rather than cover for barton, I think we need someone better than routledge, and this fella probably would of been.
