I started day dreaming there about s.taylor and r.taylor forming colo / enrique type understanding at the back. Then just thought, naaaah.
-
Man, that everton video on dailymotion. Some of it is downright obscene! The bit where Colo's motoring up the left wing and Ben Arfa therads the ball through, 1-2 back to Ben Arfa, just shows the quality we have. Ok it's not that deep, but we have some serious talent in our side. Can't think of another centre half in the league that woulkd even attempt that.
-
Came across as a quite shy and nervous young man. Nothing at all to dislike about the lad or for Steven himself to feel embarrassed about. So he threw the cards on the floor, so what?
-
As crap as it sounds, i reckon Gameiro would be fucking class in our side. With Ben Arfa behind him and Cabaye / Tiote behind him. jesus wept we'd walk into the Europa League.
-
Like i said, i'd know roughly where i fitted in and what my value was. You're always going to ask for more than your're worth anyway, again that goes for any line of work. As a player you'll know how much the club rate you, and crucially how much they need you, so why pay somebody to negotiate for you? If the agent is capable of getting an extra 20% it's because the club, for whatever reason, are willing to pay it. So yeah, i'd just aim high and haggle. But like somebody else has said, most footballer are fucking retards.
-
In days gone by when a footballer needed to supplement his income by opening supermarkets etc, they i can see why they'd need an agent. But today i dont see why they'd need one, unless they were lazy, stupid or both. If i played for a premiership club i'd know roughly where i fit in, in terms of players who were on a similar level to me. And football won't be any different to any other workplace, everybody knows ehat everybody else is earning. So why the hell would i pay somebody 15% (is it?) to go an ask for me?

Prove who wrong? The vast majority on here consider him our number one striker. That's not saying a whole lot though.
-
Never rated him, but i'll gladly eat my words if he turns out to be decent.
-
We fucking stink.
-
Who's this cunt commentating? Jesus wept, he makes Craig Burley seem decent.
-
Think you're being a bit harsh on Ba. Perhaps. But we don't look like we're ever going to score. Two games into the league, we're finding our feet, i know it could all change within 90 minutes this luchtime. We'll see...
-
I don't think we'll get a striker in either. 12 months ago we had Shola and Carroll, fair enough Carroll had come on leaps and bounds in the championship but most didn't expect him to get ten goals in the top flight, let alone go for £35m. I just think our board have this belief that somebody else, Best or Ba will step up and do what Carroll did. Which is quite frankly lidicrous, but there we have it.
-
Better than nonbody then, i suppose. But i'd rather have someone established. That said, established strikers go for considerably more than $8m. So we won't be getting one of those.
-
Is this guy more of a could be really good in a year or two type player? When we need a guy who can come in and start scoring now.
-
I was gutted when Shay Given left. But 2.5 years later i'm actually happy about it, if losing Shay back then has aided Tims progress then it was worth it. Absolutely unreal tonight.
-
He sounds like a wanker but at this point i don't care.

So, remind me who we have that can play CB? How's Sols weight these days?

This. It's hard to weep for the uncertain financial future of poor racehorse-owning Joey Barton. I'm extremely good at what I do and get a reasonable wedge for doing it, but it would take me decades to earn what Joey has trousered from just one season at NUFC. Yes but the going rate for a footballer is a lot more than people get for what society would deen more important jobs whether it is a bricklayer, a nurse, or your avarage office worker or factory line worker at Nissan. Footballers at the top level get ridiculous wages but only in comparison to most of the population. Rightly or wrongly the pay is onlty realistically compared with what other premiership clubs' players are earning. Missing the point by some distance. He doesn't have to think about security, he's sucure for life, so his kids and their kids and generations for a long time. Security has been mentioned more than a couple of times in here, which I find ridiculous. Mentioning security is comparing his situation to the average Joe, us who are struggling with bills, looking for work, losing their homes, their businesses, Barton will never understand that, so people mentioning security can lay off the dramatics IMO. I disagree. It's all relative. If Barton lived in a 3 bed semi, and drove a 52 plate astra then yes, what he has in the bank would mean security for the rest of his life. But he doesn't. Again missing the point, security has no relevance when you are dealing in millions in the bank. It does if your mortage runs in to thousand, or even tens of thousands per month. Your kids school fees are tens of thousand of pounds per term. Half what you own goes to your ex wife etc etc. I'm not saying those are Bartons circumstances by the way. Well they aren't so again not relevant. Were talking about Barton here, not someone else. Ok. You've seen his bank balance. You know bird shops at lidl. You're right.

It's good to hear we have actually made a firm offer. I was under the impression we'd just bullshitted our interest to the press. Lets just up the offer and get the lad in.
-
We're gonna need a superstar LB to risk moving Jonas away from the left. And i can't see one coming.
-
I should be pissed off about this but to be honest i just feel numb. After Carroll, Nolan, Jose and now Barton, i'm too busy focusing on not suicide bombing the directors box to feel anything at all really. What the fuck is the fat retard playing at?
-
While i'd prefer Cissokho i'd take Pieters first if he can cover at CB, as i think we're dangerously short there. If the past is anything to go by steven taylor will be out injured at some point, probably for a month or two. That said, if Pieters covered as 4th choice CB we'd need another LB anyway. Buy em both!

Which bar mate, we're hopefully heading down under in Jan.
