Whilst I have some sympathy with your point, it is quite easy to reverse your question and ask at what point do the players take responsibility for the football they play and how much control do you honestly think that a manager has over the mind and actions over 11 players? It is a bit of a circular debate - no-one knows what Pardew tells the players to do, but I just find it very hard to believe that Pardew has instructed the players to pump it long for 2 major reasons: 1) It is clearly ineffective and I have not seen any evidence in Pardew's managerial career to date to suggest that he is wedded to the long ball a la Allardyce. 2) We didn't use such a direct style in the first half of the season. Well then you have your eyes closed and hands covering your ears. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/video_audio/61504.html?genre=6%3Bsport%3D3 12.40 Yep - currently typing with my tongue. Can't see that at the moment as I am at work - is this the fabled video where some bloke with an agenda says that Pardew plays long ball football and isn't very good. Forgive me if I suggest that that probably isn't conclusive proof of anything... The fans of all the previous clubs he managed will tell you the same thing. Plenty of our fans will tell you the same thing. There is ample evidence to support the thesis that Pardew plays long-ball, direct football. Perhaps you would like to offer some evidence to the contrary? I beg to differ. I should have said a varying but sizeable portion of them. Point still stands.

A convincing win with a positive approach to the game please.
-
Has anyone actually said any of that? These phantom posters cause a lot of trouble on here. It's on the last page man.

Because they both like to sit deep. It shouldn't be such a big surprise as some of our French members pointed this out when he signed, comparing his role as a quarterback in American football terms. Aye both Alonso and Mascherano sat deep for Liverpool. It can work just fine.

I f***ing hate Pardew man. His workrate ffs. Argh. Go buy Kuyt this summer, you moron. There is a point where making flair players work back becomes counter-productive. Closing down high up the pitch is the defensive work required for a player of Ben Arfas ilk for me. It's more than counter-productive, it's infuriating. What a waste of his abilities/energy running after the ball outside our area like some no-talent hack with a set of lungs and no brain. f***ing infuriating.

Enqique has always had poor distribution, bar the odd ball over the top/down the line like he used to do for Martins. Actually if you had watched the last few Liverpool games you would have seen plenty examples of his poor passing. Aye, and Alan Smith's better than Scott Parker. Typical ex-Toon revisionism. What are you talking about? Enrique is comfortably a better player than Santon. We have been debating who has better technique.

Enrique was and still is a much better defender, Santon is better going forward. Never said anything to the contrary.
-
Which players were worse technically? Nolan was worse than Cabaye, Carroll/Shola were worse than Ba, Enrique and Santon are very similar with the ball on the ground, Ben Arfa is more technically gifted than Barton Santon is superior to Enrique technically, no doubt. Aye, right. Do you really believe Enrique has better passing, dribbling, technique and a superior first touch to Santon? Enrique could sink 12 pints and still be superior in those areas. Well, you are wrong. But obviously I won't convince you, so I'll leave it at that.

He'll have to show some belief in the better players though. Ben Arfa got scapegoat treatment until last week and Santon is getting it now. True. That said, if Ben Arfa continues this form for the remaining games and is a regular next season then we might have to admit Pardew managed him quite well. Hypothetical obviously. The Santon thing is a bit worrying. I didn't see the first half today but it sounded like he was playing poorly though. Come off it man, ffs.

"Toon Basically Put Tiote Up For Sale For Top Dollar" F365 headline. 1st comment: monkey1986 (Manchester United) says... "Is it just me or does it sound more like he is inviting offers here?". I guess I have a "mentally impared personality" for thinking the same though.

People were saying that we were touting Tiote the January after we signed him so because we don't know of any bid...it has not happened and why would you believe them if they were 'mouthing off' about knocking back a Tiote bid, if (by your own admission) everything they say are lies? Look here is a straight up lie. The rest of your post here ignores what you quoted and is just waffle with smileys. Or do you believe what you want to believe and ignore what goes against your mantra? What are you talking about? This touting through the media idea, I find a f***ing hilarious. I mean, frankly, there are so many other more efficient ways to find out whether other clubs are interested in your player. The only reason anything is said in the media is to communicate with fan bases....there is no other point! You can stir s*** either, I suppose, but ultimately it doesnt really serve any useful purpose to an owner/chairmen trying to maximise profit on one of their players. If DL or MA want to tout our players to other clubs, they have absolutely no need to tell the fans through the media!! what is the f***ing point? To gauge fan opinion? Oh right, they are interested in the opinions of the fans that that hate and despise so much.... Simply irrelevant waffle. If you believe clubs don't communicate and posture through the media you are an idiot. It happens countless times ever.single.year. Fantastic response Well yes it is actually. You claim you ignore 95% of what you hear in the media regarding sport. Such utter, utter tripe. You reason worse than an eight year old, to be frank. You shall be the first ever poster to get on my ignore list.
-
Buzzwords, lies and irrelevant waffle. I'll pick it apart later if I'm arsed.
-
Obviously clubs wont bid/open negotionians until the player performs consistentley. Dekka and co have not knocked back any bids for Tiote so far. If they did they'd be mouthing off about it. And WOW we bought a player? Lucky us... buying a player, thanks Mike! Well obviously but this does not mean you tout your best players around in the media. Primary means? who said primary means? Sure you do. Fair play, but I don't enjoy hoof-ball so I don't really look forward to watching it most weeks!

I don't see how he has said much wrong at all. Better than having your head stuck in the sand while Pardew feeds you your opinions through your arse.
