    St James' Park

I find it interesting the difference between opinions on here when it comes to building a new stadium, compared to that of the NUST survey a while back. The majority (or atleast the majority who post in the specific thread) on here seem to favour building a new stadium entirely, and seem to want to equate PIF not doing that as a lack of ambition, where as (if I remember correctly) about 90 of the NUST surveyed said that they don't want us to move out to SJP at all.

If you changed the prosecco from a bottomless brunch to lager, I'd be all over it like

    Is it? Sorry... Why?
  6. It's TBG, every post he makes is a piss take of the highest order. His commitment to the bit is unrivalled
  7. Adam Pearson nominated for best content creator in the Football Content Awards.
  8. Can't remember the last time we had a game postponed, must have been a good few years
  9. I've not been on the football section all day, and purposely avoided it after the football. Based on this thread I assume the reaction to our first loss of the season has been level headed and calm?
  10. West Ham sacking Moyes and getting the Spanish equivalent is kind of amusing
  11. So based on that, I'm guessing it's this: While no Tonali is a annoying, I don't mind that XI.
  12. I see a distinct lack of Barnes and Tonali in that list.

    Eddie Howe

People will criticise the manager if it's warranted, but when a managed comes in with us winless in 14, and staring relegation in the face, to then turn it around so easily stay up, and then in the following season finishes 4th, and all the whole playing great football while getting results such as: Tottenham 6-1 Tottenham 4-0 Man United 3-0 Arsenal 2-0 Man United 2-0 Sheffield United 8-0 Burnley 4-1 Sheffield United 5-1 Aston Villa 5-1 Sunderland 3-0 Chelsea 3-0 PSG 4-1 Crystal Palace 4-0 Brighton 4-1 West Ham 5-1 Etc. people are going to give him some stick for one 7th placed finish where their were massive mitigating factors. Like playing a 17 year old for 10 games in a row during the most crucial part of the season. @Froggy how's that for a bite

    The Other 18

I see that when we do it, it's morally corrupt and rules should be changed to stop it from happening, but when Arsenal do it, it's completely fine and comparable to one of the best managers in Premier League history.

    Eddie Howe

With all due respect... Abso-fucking-lutly, and I wouldn't want a single fucker out their in charge of the club at this point, even Pep. Eddie Howe has done more to my enjoyment of football than any manager in my lifetime, he's transformed the club from top to bottom. We now have a team that I'm proud of, that plays with pride, that represents how I want a Newcastle team to play, he's delivered outstanding jaw dropping moment, got results beyond my wildest dreams, and he done it from the lowest point ever as a Newcastle fan towards the end of the Bruce era. I don't want any other manager representing this club other than Eddie Howe, and in proud of it.
  16. That a good question actually, would you rather play the all the top 10 sides at home in the first half of the season, and play the bottom 10 away, and then play the top 10 away from home in the second half or would you rather have it the other way where you play all the bottom half teams at home in the first half? My thoughts are that it's good to get them out the way early, and then you can keep accumulating points to so called "lesser sides" at home in the second half, despite having horrid away fixtures against teams you hope to be competing with.
  17. We could do with a win in this, looking at our fixtures afterwards we have a tough run of games coming up: Man City (h) Everton (a) - despite how shit they are, we always struggle against them. Brighton (h) Chelsea (a) Arsenal (h)
  18. So just using Man City as an example, but you can apply it to any English Champions League team really. Between the November international break, and the March international break (112), and supposed they also progresses in the League and FA Cups, they'd play 33 games in that time, a game every 3.3 days. It's insane.
  19. Another issue with this format is that you have a 2/3 chance of progressing, so in early games, teams can coast without the jeopardy.

    U23s & Academy

The Premier League and the National League have today launched a new competition for first teams of National League clubs and Premier League 2 sides. The National League Cup is designed to give young players from Premier League and EFL clubs additional opportunities to test themselves against senior opposition, with the aim of further aiding elite player development. The competition, which begins in October, also offers an opportunity for National League clubs to play regular matches against the best under-21 teams in England at their own stadia, with this additional exposure intended to improve the playing and spectator experience. National League clubs will also keep all gate receipts from these fixtures. The National League Cup is a 32-team midweek competition, comprising of 16 under-21 teams participating in Premier League 2, and 16 first-teams from clubs participating in the National League. The competition will consist of a group stage (four groups of eight), with the two best-placed teams in each group advancing to a knock-out stage to determine the winner. Newcastle United Under-21s have been drawn in Group C alongside Sunderland Under-21s, Middlesbrough Under-21s and Leeds United Under-21s as well as Halifax Town, Tamworth, Boston United and Gateshead. Fixture dates and kick-off times will be confirmed on newcastleunited.com in due course. Competition round dates: Group stage match round 1: 1 – 2 October 2024 Group stage match round 2: 5 - 6 November 2024 Group stage match round 3: 3 – 4 December 2024 Group stage match round 4: 21 – 22 January 2025 Quarter-finals: 5 – 6 February 2025 Semi-finals: 11 – 12 March 2025 Final: 1 – 2 April 2025

The estimated cost to revamp the Nou Camp is €1.5 billion, let alone how much a new state of the art stadium would cost.
