Unreal signing, especially since Inter are desperate for quality wing backs. I'd imagine there's a buy back clause.

Sheff Utd made us look decent too You didn't even have the majority of the ball on your home turf and you only took the lead when they were down to 10 men. We properly took them apart.

We were fucking shit hot last night. Best I've seen us play since the Fergie days.

Someone compared it to us sacking Bobby because he finished 5th, which I think is a really good comparison. They're going to be mid-table fodder for the next few years. Some similarities yes, but think it was more a case that they never really adequately replaced the spine of the team...Toure/Vieira/Henry, and just went for a succession of light weight technical players over the years, and for all the improvement in the league since then, there is still a place for gritty hard working players, who have a never defeated attitude. Has to be a balance of course but I can't think of an Arsenal player that another player would be 'frightened' of going up against I'm convinced Anelka ruined Arsenal. They bought him for £500k and sold him on for £27m or something with everyone saying how much of a genius Wenger was. After that he seemed to become obsessed with signing nobodies in an effort to discover the next diamond in the rough. If they'd balanced their transfer policy with some big name established players I think we'd be looking at a different Arsenal today. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Henrikh Mkhitaryan Alexandre Lacazette Mesut Özil Mikel Arteta Per Mertesacker These are the only "big name" signings I can think of over the last 9-10 years for them, so I reckon you're right. If you compare it to the other "big" PL clubs who make 2-3 big name signings every year Arsenal have fallen behind. If Mertesacker, Arteta and Mkhitaryan are big names then so is Pepe, Sanchez, Xhaka etc. I'd even put Podolski and Giroud on the same level as Mertesacker.

It's £65m for Pjanic. It's horrendous for Barca.

This could end up a very good weekend for us but I think Chelsea will still get the win.
-
They were both release clauses. Both players worth much more in todays market. Two great signings.

Have you had a look at mine? Might need to ramp up the difficulty.

PM me your email and I'll just fire over the documents.

Would love to but I do a quiz with my real mates on a Sunday. :shifty:
-
I have an 8 round Football quiz if anyone is stuck for questions and wants them. Made it for a group and was told it was too difficult but I think it's handy.

Pity he plays for manure

Martial is having his best season by far under Solskjaer. He's already equalled his best ever PL goalscoring season. Looks the happiest he's ever been too. Really need to do a bit of research before having blind pops at players and Solskjaer.
-
All things considered Solskjaer has done very well. Not sure about your comparison with big Boris. Unbeaten in 11 at the moment. A run where we didn't have Rashford and Pogba who are two of the best players in the league. Bruno Fernandes has made a serious difference, and the club feels together for the first time in a while.

At least your avatar is decent.

Froggie is actually a seriously good member of this group, despite being a Man, he contributes some balanced stuff. He's also polite to Geordies.....unlike.... Find it funny that I've been here for 10 years and he came in all guns blazing like that. Thanks for the kind words.

I'm sorry, literal firsthand knowledge > whatever this is. You have done this before with me, numerous times. Either Solbakken lies to you or he's just full of shit, but the only transfer you got right with me was Solskjaer. Still waiting on us signing Elabdellaoui as a Darmian replacement. I love Dortmund like. I completely agree with your viewpoint. That being said we're right in the hunt somehow. The club still has pull, especially since we're in great form and likely to get CL football next season. Money too I suppose.

I can see your contribution to the forum is going to be valuable.
-
Maybe you'll get Josh King.
-
Noooo don't sign Sancho. I'll have to hate him :-( It's unlikely to be this summer given the financial repercussions of COVID-19, plus the uncertainty of CL qualification. €120m is the price. RW is and has been the top priority for a while. We're quite weak there at the moment.
-
I didn't mean slowing as in pace. I meant as in scoring. Pace wise he's been slowing for 5 years but he's adapted his game to still maintain his goalscoring output.
-
I can say with 100% knowledge that he is not. Sancho is the #1 target. We've also inserted a buy clause into the Ighalo loan deal. King, as he has always been, is a last resort.
