  1. Same page Giggs again Neil. FFS.
  2. Pure dung, no doubt. Love Neville though. Happy that he took the challenge.
  3. I don't know if I'm missing anything, but Shearer, Carver and Connor had far, far worse records than Neville like. Worse teams to be fair. Though Neville probably would have had a 50% win ratio if Negredo wasn't a clown.
  4. Could be a John Cena type swerve and he'll come back last game of the season to save a pen and keep you up. (I probably would have preferred Elliot to Randolph)
  5. Worse record than shearer. In scoring goals in the premier league or what?
  6. This is the point I'm trying to put across albeit poorly. Anything else after this I have no experience of and have no place to comment. When I say it's his fault, I mean he has to take the blame of allowing it to get to the point of being an alcoholic. It is, like you said, foolish.
  7. Because it's the simplistic reasoning of a caveman who thinks cause and effect occurs in a vacuum and doesn't want to consider it a disease that can interfere with otherwise rational and normal brains. 'Fault' or blame implies choice and forethought, so it's effectively saying someone has chosen to destroy their life by willfully becoming be an alcoholic, which is absurd. In my opinion there is always a point of no return, and you always have a point before that where you can logically think to yourself, "I'm in serious danger of losing control here. I need to stop this before it goes further." I don't think it's simplistic reasoning at all to suggest that alcoholics need to shoulder at least some of the blame for allowing themselves to go past the point of no return. EDIT: I should also mention that I felt like that once. It isn't ignorant thinking of my behalf.
  8. I didn't mean that it is strictly and only his fault. It's that some people above are suggesting that it isn't his fault at all which isn't true.
  9. I don't know a whole lot on the matter like, but I don't see how you can look at an alcoholic and say that it's not their fault. Of course it is.
  10. I've actually wondered what you would need to spend to complete one of those albums these days, on average. I think I finished two when I was younger but I got all the packs bought for me. I remember getting a full box for my birthday once and it was the greatest day of my life.

I absolutely respect your opinion, but disagree with it pretty much 100%. Playing Rooney on the left would be criminal considering how slow he is and how little he adds to build up play. Don't get me wrong, he doesn't have the pace to be a winger, but he does have the ability to draw players away from their position and would leave a lot of room for the full back to get down the wing. He still has the ability for that killer pass too and is dangerous outside the box. Can hold up the play better than most too. Would be good to have him on the pitch for frees as well as he is arguably England's best free kick taker. At least that way you can play Rooney, Kane and Vardy. I'm actually quite looking forward to this Euros to see how everything pans out.
  12. I thought Curaçao was some kind of coffee or some shit.

Vardy would be some player to bring on to hassle the opposition if you're in the lead mind. Roy has a hard choice. All I know is that if I was England manager Kane would be the first name of the teamsheet.

Yep. Scored 7, 1 pen. Scored 1 every 3 games in the league, which some would say is brilliant for an attacking midfielder, others would say it's s***, but only when Rooney is the topic of discussion. Wouldn't say it's brilliant personally, it's not shit either though. Probably would be somewhere in between. Which is essentially my point. He shouldn't start ahead of 20+ strikers in the form of their lives, but he's still a very good player and it would be ridiculous if he wasn't on the plane as some are suggesting. He'll do well enough this tournament IMO. Couple of goals, couple of assists.

Martial always starts on the left like but drifts into the centre of the pitch. Rooney starts central but essentially has a free role and always drops deeper to create instead. It's good and it's bad as he's still good up front but at the same time at least he actually creates space by playing the ball out wide or giving it to Mata in dangerous areas. Carrick, Fellaini and/or Schneiderlin would just play keep the ball between themselves if he didn't drop deep to get it.

He is England's record goalscorer. It doesn't matter who his competition was or is. Your national football team was formed 150 years ago and he is the record holder. If you're going to bring up his caps though you should bring up his ratio, and it's almost identical to your hero Alan Shearer.

I think it's more shocking that England's record goalscorer and captain is being completely thrown under the bus. Some people actually suggesting he shouldn't even be in the squad is shocking. Of course I'm defending him in that respect. I did say he shouldn't start like. Not sure what is so shocking about what I've said. Shocking.
  19. I might get involved this year. Can you buy the packs off amazon or something? Really don't fancy asking for sticker packs from the newsagent at my age. "My son loves these. Can't wait for the Euros to be over to stop buying these damn stickers!"

hardly a ringing endorsement tbh. I don't think just under 1 goal in every 2 games is a bad return for a man who isn't even a striker anymore. This is the problem though. He is/was so good that people are expecting 30 goals a season from him. It's quite likely he ends up with 20 goals this season and people are turning their noses up at it. sorry, im talking league goals only here. Based on league goals he can't start ahead of kane or vardy, his return is pretty shit in comparison tbh. Based on just general contribution he shouldn't start ahead of Kane or Vardy, but we both know that he will. I just hope he can have a great tournament before getting knocked out by a Jon Walters brace in the quarters.

Wouldn't be surprised if he just feels the pressure in an England shirt to be honest. This might be the first major tournament the English aren't pinning their entire hopes on Rooney. It might do him good not being the main man for the first time in ten years. Maybe, yeah. He doesn't play well for Man Utd either though. It's nothing personal, I don't hate him, he's just not good enough. He plays better for us than people think, and is still a very important player in our starting 11. He was quite poor earlier in the season though I'll give you that. I would say Rooney is more than good enough to play for England, but if you are picking a starting 11 at this moment, he shouldn't be in there. I don't think any of this matters anyway, as Roy won't drop him.
