I was just wondering why Abeid who has been written up as the next big thing seems to be suddenly way down the pecking order, probably about our 10th choice midfielder. He doesn't appear to be injured but can't even get in the squad for the Europa games. Maybe you all know something I don't but I don't think so.

I don't know how high he ever was on the ladder, but he appears to be slipping right down near the bottom now. I think we are going to probably let him go soon. His he any good?

I think and suspect that most people agree, that we are three quality players away from being in a position to seriously challenge for a Champion's League position. A Debuchy, Douglas, De Jong/Carroll type investment of around 25Million would give us a better starting 11 and some serious depth in the positions that we are short of cover. Maybe Ashley is just not prepared to make that kind of investment. Maybe Pardew hasn't convinced him that we need to invest that much to seriously strengthen the team. Maybe Ashley thinks, well we did finish 5th last season with this squad, and we haven't (so far) lost any key players. However we haven't strengthened the starting team and I'm pretty sure that finishing 5th this season is going to be a lot more difficult than last season, Chelsea have certainly improved, so have Everton, and Liverpool are not really going to be that bad again are they?

I thought he played really well, he certainly wasn't at fault on the goal, if anybody was it was Simpson for letting the cross in. Lennon certainly did skin him once, but he'll go past most players once he's in the box at speed, trying to tackle him will always likely to result in a penalty.

Tiote's passing from the back is pretty terrible, just give it to Cabaye who has hardly touched the ball and let him do it.

Most of the players being talked about as potential England players don't and won't get picked regularly enough by their clubs, generally a sign that they are not that highly rated by their managers who see them in training every day. Milner, A. Johnson, Richards don't start in the games that matter for City, neither do Smalling, Jones, Wellbeck or Cleverly for Utd. If you look at the other good squads in the Euro's, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy, its a completely different picture. The gulf in ability and technique is as huge as ever between us and the good teams, the only difference is that now we really seem to have finally realised it.

Gerrard said before the game that him and parker had to win the midfield battle, well they were dominated to an absolutely ridiculous degree. Time to move on, out with the old and useless, which to be honest is most of the squad, let's see if Roy has the balls to do it.

I find when watching games as a neutral until it starts I've no idea which team I would like to win. So Arsenal vs Spurs, I don't know, Fulham vs QPR likewise, Everton vs Liverpool, definitely Everton etc. England vs France I should be supporting England, after all I'm English. However I've lived in France a lot and liked it, England have some of the most despicable/useless players to have ever played international soccer, Cole, Terry, Gerrard, Rooney, Downing, Milner etc, and most importantly France have two of our players playing, and will attack and play with flair. Until the game starts and the first goal goes in I've no idea who I want to win.

Well it's about time he showed it, Brazil need something quickly. Marcelo who is playing just behind Neymar is playing well and was Brazil's best player against the US in my opinion.
