  1. No doubt in time honoured English style, we haven't been practicing penalties
  2. Good free kick though. The Germans look very strong (as usual). The French girls played well in the earlier game. Attendance over 73,000!!
  3. Population is about 400,000 and they are a part of France so rarely get to play as a country. They have some decent players by the looks of things, I presume quite a few of them play in France. Thuram, Henry, Gallas, Saha, Angloma, Distin all were either born there or have parental links. I live in Antigua which is 40 miles away and the only Antiguan related soccer player I can think of is Emile Heskey!!

    Dimitar Berbatov

too old, too expensive and definitely on far too high wages for fat Mike you would have thought.
  5. well they can drug and alcohol test them like all kinds of company's do already, especially in the States and in the industry I work in.
  6. Waddle at Marseille was better than all of them
  7. I hope that he does well and is a success. Just as I hoped that Shearer did well before he joined us, and that Gazza did well at Lazio and Waddle at Marseille and that Clarke is a success at Huddersfield as a manager etc. They are all Geordies and they deserve our support whether they play for us or not. Under different and better circumstances they would have happily played their entire careers at NUFC. There are some very petty people on here.
  8. He's so good that when he was finally picked for the full French squad for a friendly, that they played him for a half, saw how technically useless he is and have never picked him again.
  9. investment in the club could just mean the fat controller paying himself the money he no doubt claims he is owed
  10. People blaming Carroll are just stupid and ignorant there are no other words to describe them. Well actually there are....... If Ashley didn't want to sell him he wouldn't have. Atletico Madrid didn't want to sell Aguero so they didn't despite the Spuds rumoured 38M offer. If NUFC weren't prepared to sell Carroll I don't believe for one minute he would have left or wanted to leave.
  11. If we have to match the Rats salary offer to keep Carroll we should. Isn't Ashley worth a lot more money than the Liverpool owner anyhow? If this goes through I'm going to see a psychiatrist and have this ridiculous illogical love and support for NUFC removed from my psych and replaced with support for a club that is well run, ambitious and might one day win something, which means just about any other club in existence.
  12. It's too early to say anything really definitively about this until it's either confirmed or the window shuts tonight. However it's not too early to say the following; if Ashley sanctions the sale of Carroll it will prove that he's the twat that most of all of us have always thought he was. Apart from the fact we could get relegated again this season, it will just show the complete lack of ambition that he has for the club and confirm that he will take all the money back out of the club that he can and no doubt sell it at the first possible opportunity. Secondly Carroll could actually say no and refuse to be transferred. Liverpool are currently no better than we are and show no signs that they will become a top four club again in the near future. He's a Newcastle lad why would he want to go there? If it was Barcelona we would all understand it, maybe Man U or Chelsea but bloody Liverpool give me a break.
  13. There is an interview out there somewhere that Alan Smith did with one of the papers (maybe Times or Telegraph) where he described the effect that the bad injury he got at Man Utd. was having on his career. He admitted he'd lost pace and mobility and would never be the player he was before he was injured. It's hardly then his fault that we bought a player who hadn't recovered from a bad injury and in fact never could fully recover, or that managers have continued to pick him to carry out a role that physically he is not capable of doing. The same applies to Nicky Butt, once rated one of the best midfielders in the world, but continually picked by managers of NUFC, when once again physically he could no longer do the job they asked him. The club signed these players up to long lucrative contracts what is the player meant to do, say I retire, i'm now useless and don't worry about paying me for the next couple of years?
  14. Apparently both Alonso and Ramos did it on purpose so they get suspended for the next match that doesn't matter and then they start again at zero for the quarters or whatever comes after the group games. Apparently.
  15. The worst was definitely the 1-4 at home, with the Rowell hatrick especially as he was a pretty good friend of mine at school. The best, pretty much all the rest, winning at Joker Park was always special.
  16. Anyhow after that short interlude, I reckon with a bit of luck that it's likely that Man U will finish outside of the top 4 this season and the Scot's reign of terror will be over.
  17. well N'Zogbia hit the shot with the same sort of power that Martins did when he scored that beauty against the Spuds, and in to the same top left hand corner and I don't remember anyone blaming their keeper for that one.
  18. i need to get my post count up a little, so while I'm on it, Williamson is out of his depth along with Perch in this division.
  19. and ignored by the whole of Spain ever since despite the fact they are desperate for a left back for the national team
  20. is that the same Ronaldo who blamed Krul for N'Zogbia's second goal?
  21. who says Enrique is highly rated. He's certainly not In Spain. I'm not saying he's as useless as the various Right Backs we have but this idea that's he's some kind of world beating left back is laughable.
  22. Cleverley had been on for about a minute before he skinned Jose who obviously decided the ball was going out, and laid it back to some Wigan plank all alone on the penalty area who messed it up. Which sums him up. Good going forward a liability defensively which he was for the entire season the last time we played in this division
  23. Can we get one thing straight once and for all, although Enrique is an OK passer and reasonable going forward he is a pretty shit defender, often out of position and constantly trying to play himself out of trouble when all he needs to do is boot it.
  24. AIG were the main sponsors until they went tits up and were bailed out by the US Government with tax payers money. Then again we benefited in the same way with Northern Rock, so at least some of the taxes you pay went to a good cause. I'm personally excused Taxes.
