    Paul Gascoigne

It’s always the same few clips I feel when it comes to Gazza whereas Beardsley there’s usually something that pops up from his time at another club perhaps and still gets my attention. After having the pleasure of seeing them both as far as footballers it will always be Beardsley >>> Gazza.
  2. Still just catflap ... please I'm begging you, no I'm threatening you, if you don't shut up I'm gonna cut your head off. Shove it in the microwave, wait until it goes ping, mash it up with a bit of milk and butter and ram it up your backside. SO JUST SHUT UP!

    Euro 96

Totally ridiculous how few Newcastle players there were considering we'd just finished second. I know Ince was quality, but Lee definitely should have had a look in around 94-96 Lee and Beardsley omissions were crazy.
  4. You would think so. Weird just thinking how they could do defending drills etc trying to keep their distance as frequent as possible.
  5. That's far too early imo. No they haven’t. I’d read it as another wait and see but who knows with this government.

    Euro 96

Watched the full 90 of this last year. We really weren't anything special that game Gascoigne aside Netherlands were much better footballers. We weren't special all tournament. Poor against Switzerland, Uri Geller bailed us out against Scotland, that Holland game was decent, we were lucky against Spain before finally losing. Exactly. Holland and possibly Germany performance aside we were poor.

    Transfer rumours

Thats a good price Might as well find the nearest drain and drop £50m down it
  8. It brought out the answer that it was fair. We’ve explained to you why they don’t have to make that decision if asked it. We’ve also explained the reason why they are being asked. The link to both is their salaries hence how money has been brought into it. (Ever get the feeling you wished you’d never bothered )
  9. I admitted to bringing myself into the debate. The reason I didn’t post it was I re-read what I was replying to and you still weren’t/aren’t getting it. I will leave you and TRon[/member] to debate. I think I’ve made my point very clear regarding what footballers could do for themselves to avoid any mental health issues or necessity to leave their families.
  10. You did. You said money has nothing to do with mental health (which they will suffer from not seeing their family). We’ve explained to you that in this scenario because of the money they players don’t have to put themselves in that position. They just can’t expect to be continued to be paid as normal whilst not playing and not risking their mental health and whilst spending time with their families instead of being at work.
  11. Yes but in this scenario they can control wether they want those mental health problems you fear would be brought on by not seeing their friends and family. Simply don’t play and collect a living wage if needed and agree if required to play when it’s safe to play again with a negotiated contract length amendment to tie in with the eventual end of the season. I agree the PFA have not given them the best of advice but like pointed out they are a joke organisation but again that reflects what’s been the attitudes of the players for far to long post Bosman.
  12. It means what it sounds like. If a footballer is worth millions, even if there is much less money around after this, his future is secure. He can look after his own family first even if he never plays again. He doesn't have to take risks someone who isn't a millionaire would. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Because they're rich they should play football? In short I’m saying they can afford not to play football but can’t expect in not playing to expect to be paid their full salary. Everyone is in this mess together so as long as they come out of it safe and well with a roof over their heads then it will be a success. Some groups of people in society are in a better position to do that than most. They are in that group. You said they are humans not robots and I agree and that’s what they are being asked to be in this situation... human.
  13. But other individual injuries don’t affect other players like the virus does as it has in Dresden.
  14. Correct. So the question they’ve got to ask themselves is what sacrifice should/could they make as human beings rather than as robots.
  15. Yep. Funded by the football clubs not its members. Only football eh?
  16. The PFA that none of them pay subs towards? Yes selfishly. They can only advise though. Nothing stopping them doing it themselves.
  17. I think the point he’s making is other industries are doing it to help save others. Why not footballers who won’t either cut, defer (or both) their wages do it to save their football clubs/employers. If they agreed a large cut/deferral they would help end the vicious circle of playing now versus safety now. It does sadly seem the player as per usual want their cake and eat whilst hiding behind their agents. Certainly in the top flight for sure.
  18. Was reading an article on the Bundesliga, one of the major reasons why they need to complete the season is in order to get the final payment from the TV rights - if they don’t get this, then a number of German clubs will go insolvent Don’t know where the PL is up to with payments? Think they have their final instalment? The PL I believe have to pay TV mopney back to the sponsors , hence the panic over where we are with when and it should be finnished So kind of similar to Germany then - this is going to be a nightmare for the respective boards Also I believe TV companies don’t want to remove Promotion/relegation from the equation which is understandable as otherwise what is the point playing them at all.
