Probably that day that @Sempiternal fell down the bank when he went all weak at the knees to try and meet him

Where the club is at now Nick hasn’t got the grace period Joelinton had unfortunately. That’s the ultimate difference. That and we can’t afford to make a PSR mistake. This transfer has to work and has to work fairly quickly. Not for me personally or any expectations just is what it is.

Joelinton was £40m… and that probably included his salary. Was something weird going on us paying a high price for him and a low price for ASM but same agent (?) Nick has cost us £69m… guessing we are talking inflation rates or something (?)

Not sure any of what you’ve said has actually happened so maybe the lunatic tag applies to yourself? There’s been a few comments saying he hasn’t played particularly well or did anything eye catching and show a specific quality that you’d expect with such a massive fee. Possibly even pointed out a couple of flaws for his physical size. Most seem to acknowledge that he didn’t see much of the ball and the German team is possibly no great shakes. To give balance to that though which maybe hasn’t been mentioned was they were only up against Slovakia and North Ireland. Don’t think I’ve read anyone saying he’s shit? Think they are questioning if he’s ready for our league and team and if so in what position because at the fee paid he won’t survive a 12 month bedding period from the crowd unless he’s scoring and playing well. All doubts lead to Howe’s ability work his magic. I think that’s all people are expressing. Doubts base on early impressions. Fairly normal behaviour in my opinion. I don’t think anyone who watched both performances can state he was great or fantastic or a sure starter on Saturday?

Regardless he’s going to have to get off the mark quick. Debut goal will go a long way in helping him succeed here. Nothing after a month and pressure will grow. It is what it is.

Havertz vibes?… Not a 9 not a 10?…

Yep. Simple economics can drive tourism etc. Thankfully EasyJet are returning back to Newcastle so that should hopefully help a little.

If you can be competitive on flight prices you’ll be surprised the effort people will make to fly from that airport.
-
Long may it continue. We need many more.
-
Disagree. It’s a long way off of course. Building more houses would help though

Pretty sure I read that the Saudi’s who backed away weren’t connected to PIF at all. Just happened to be Saudi investors.
-
Wasn’t really aimed at you. I did say people not you. So please don’t take it personally.
-
Makes sense. Though they haven’t jumped at the chance to buy the 49% of the airport that was on offer. See how it plays out. Hoping things will be much clearer before we move into 2026.

The whole idea of the Saudi Vision 2030 or whatever year they’ve picked is to move as far away as possible from reliance on oil and diversify into other areas. Hence why they’ll probably get involved in wind energy on the North East coast etc long term. I appreciate it’s the big ticket name and you could end up being right but was always lead to believe that other than F1 they want to promote other companies.

Why do people keeping picking Aramco? Surely it’s the last sponsor they’d use?
-
Is that not Silverstone’s job?
-
Have a feeling we might see them as a pair maybe more than expected.

Nope and one of the reasons I gave him a B. Thought Isak was very poor holding up play or getting us up the pitch when under severe pressure. Was hoping the different profile in physique would finally give us that option. The winger option never seemed to work against the top teams suffocating us. Talking about Man City and Liverpool away in particular. Though against Arsenal and Chelsea it’d be useful also.

That suggests he’ll look better at home than away. Do you think he’ll be able to hold the ball up away from home when an out ball is needed?
