Hope you don’t see that as derogatory of our game? It’s what makes our league better. The fact ironically they are trying to take it out our league is diminishing the attractiveness to it. Apart from a goal you’ll still get the biggest cheer when a player wins the ball back and so you should as it highlights the fight and bravery in the player which is what you want to see in your team. Watched football live across many countries and it’s quite insipid.

It’s down to the individual. The TV scenarios have changed things over the years. We are spoilt that you can usually find any game. Peak was when the pubs showed them also as you got the communal atmosphere also. Still can’t beat being at the game. Especially when I find the home games having more often than not better atmospheres than the aways these days.

Thats not as long as I expected TBH. Assumed people are F5’ing most of the day especially the days leading up to game. Was expecting you saying 20-30hrs TBH. What would others says their hourly F5 total is per game?

Sub every 5th game is regular to me. Maybe not to you which is fair enough. My main point however still stands that I always felt he was left out of the biggest games. Which to me goes against the theory of the greatest English CM since 1996 or whenever it was suggested.

I don’t care that much frankly And to give an answer to the argument Gerrard was the better CM. He could drag poorer teams along and was far more effective in a team that didn’t have the ball dominance Man Utd had. If NUFC ever had to sign one I’d of went for Gerrard. He’d make a bigger impact on a more regular basis in games. Scholes never grasped games single-handedly like Gerrard.

142 out of 718 between 1994-2013 Vs Giggs 160 out of 963 1991-2014. Giggs was a winger most of his career also which you’d expect to be rotated more. There were times Giggs even played ahead of Scholes in midfield late on iirc. Excellent technical player. Not world class for me and not strictly CM for me also.

Don’t get me wrong. He will of very good appearance rate. Fergie seemed to trust him more later in his career and clearly rated him. However he was slow and physically not strong and quite hot headed with a ridiculous tackling style.

Yep. Nope. Like I say history has been rewritten on his career. He was regularly a bench player.

Nope. Often dropped for the big games as Fergie knew the midfield would get overrun.

Scholes has become a myth. A player that was underrated a tad at the time leading to then became massively overrated by those saying he was underrated He was never a regular for Man Utd and England for a reason. Very good player but not sure he was even a CM.

Nope. He’s going to be in the free transfer wage bracket. Have a funny feeling Real Madrid will go for him and Konate ends up renewing at Liverpool. Not that I rate him highly but RM love a free and Konate’s form has fell off a cliff since being linked.

A win would be great to make inroads on the 5 points we are down this season. This and win against Fulham could get us back to last seasons output.

To be fair to the players and GK’s in particular for those not in attendance the wind was blowing a gale, that first half in particular.

Played well when game was solely at his pace. However our current three had more gears when needed.
