  1. I guess owners could say to Rafa who would you keep & sell and do likewise with Poch. Probably find they are more than £20m better off under Rafa due to smaller squad rotation. Just a daft theory mind
  2. Done a bit detective work myself and just to add a little bit to what’s kind of been said; The free season tickets are in the name of the original season ticket holder. There is a button to renew them on the website. When you click on it gives you three options but none working currently due to pricing but will be interesting if this is still the case July 1st when on sale: Hospitality Suite Season 20/21 Hospitality Season Ticket 20/21 Season Ticket 20/21
  3. I think what makes it even more of a tough call for the authorities is the fact some clubs have played less games. If all teams had played the same amount of games I think there would’ve been a slightly easier decision to be made.
  4. Scary figures. Football is the Wild West.
  5. I spot 3 NO posters in that photo..... You are missing one more...
  6. This was on my Facebook memories today. Must of been a sign. Was a good night [emoji41] See who can spot who... [emoji102]

    St James' Park

Yes. For obvious reasons can’t go in to it in depth but basically the better the club did the better for The Freeman. Shame it didn’t go ahead. More so for the club.
  8. Chilli Padi have started doing deliveries due to lockdown as of tomorrow.

I don’t but if I do I could let them graze on the land Sadly the livestock does get attacked quite often unfortunately. Some sick people out there unfortunately.

That's interesting. I always thought the club paid rent to the city council? And leased the land directly from them? It’s Freeman land not Council land. The club pay us rent. Whether it goes to Council for them to pass straight to us I couldn’t argue either way as not 100% but I’m pretty sure it comes direct. Along with the Hopping’s it’s one of the two main incomes for the Freeman which is spent maintaining our land, properties and various charitable stuff.

Like I’ve said numerous times on here at the time of asking The Freeman were all for the SJH plans using the Leazes Park etc as we could see the benefits and the facelift it would’ve brought to the City. Doubt they’d think differently as long as capacity of stadium was bigger as NUFC pay us rent for SJP. (Not sure if you aware that a NUFC are one of the few big clubs that doesn’t own the land the ground is built on. It’s a long term leasehold). The history of the likely new owners might be a stumbling block possibly.

    St James' Park

In short. A few families defended the City wall when under attack 100’s of years ago. So every male from that day on in those families was eligible to become a Freeman of the City. The reason only male was it was to keep the family name. Which in turn are part of “companies” which are basically old fashioned trades like Tanner’s and Cordwainer's etc In the last several year due to the way the modern world thinks they decided to open it up to daughters also which unfortunately has diluted its meaning somewhat as due to marriage it then creates a different family lineage with the name if that makes any sense. So in my lifetime my grandad was one as was my dad and brother. It’s a very charitable organisation but after originally being against becoming one I decided to join just to keep numbers up as they were low at the time due to male only lineage and in turn keep the Council’s hands off all the land for as long as possible. So one of the plus points of the admittance of woman is the numbers have swollen again and that should leave the land we own in safe hands for a long time to come hopefully. Hope that helps.

That was the original plan if I recall.
  14. Just returned back since posting earlier... Looks like R.E.M. is appreciated on here by more than just us two Time flies. I sold my season ticket on first season of Fat Sham too. Still do a few away games taking in grounds I’ve not been to before mainly and did a few home games under Rafa if I had guests staying who’d come to see NUFC from afar so he’s had a few quid off me but very little. No great foresight on my behalf but the KK sacking shortly after made it look that way Would be great to catch up properly when lockdown is over. I owe you a pint at least for all those lifts home. As for thread title surely Admin need to change it to “Sale Of Newcastle United: Remember Every Moment”
  15. Definitely, I’ve expressed the same on here. It’s a lot easier to fuck a match off if it’s on some industrial estate next to an IKEA, rather than the middle of a city centre, 5 mins from loads of bars and a night out Said this for years. So what explains our (certainly when I was still going) extraordinary away support, when clearly the opposite is true, considering our fans have got to travel much further than any others? Away following is a completely different phenomenon and metric of measurement to home support. They are simply not comparable. We'll always have a good away following because we have a core of 5k who will follow us everywhere, and travel anywhere in the country, and a good amount of southern based fans for more distant trips. In terms of home numbers, you can undoubtedly attribute thousands who turn up simply because it's part of a weekend routine of drinking. Once you move that out of the city and make it more than a 10 minute walk from bars, loads of casual support will simply not bother, certainly during tougher times anyway. Newcastle is such a small city as well, with limited spending money in the population. Taking the fans out of the city centre would be massive. If anything the club should be embedding even further... bigger and better retail, bars you can use all week, plenty of options. We always have great away support. No one saying there isn’t a hardcore loyal fan base like all clubs and ours being one of the biggest. So selling out the standard 3k allocation is generally no trouble if still economically very impressive. The myth is we are a big club in just Newcastle alone and that we are parochial when in fact there’s probably more Geordies spread around the country than a lot of perceived areas in the country. London games definitely attract a different fan base compared to some of the northern away trips IMO. As the song goes “Geordie’s Here, Geordie’s There...” Aye I know, what I meant was that the football club makes up a bit part of the city centre... culturally and financially. Removing that reason to spend time in the city centre would be pretty risky. My reply was aimed bigfella[/member] and just an addition to yours Actually I’ve a question for bigfella[/member] which might sound weird Did I work with you around 28yrs ago? "Work" would be pushing the truth with you Lfee , but yes, we've had this conversation before, many years ago, when I first joined this forum. I thought we had but then starting doubting myself. Just had to set a password reminder tied in with first place of work the other day so must of set my memory ticking. Won’t forget this time. Hope you are well. I’m still into R.E.M. ... they were 40yrs old a couple of weeks ago! How old does that make you?!

    St James' Park

The main Town Moor will never (ever) be used for any further developments. The "Freemen of the City" control it with a rod of iron (as they say!) and they feel they have ALREADY given up far too much of the Moor, for . . . Fenham Barracks, Exhibition Park, Nuns Moor Park, Newcastle United Golf Course, Leazes Park, and (of course) St James' Park. However, some way 'detached' from the main Town Moor is the "Castle Leazes Town Moor" area, now that smallish area may perhaps become available, providing Leazes Park itself isn't damaged, and is perhaps even extended, as Sir John Halls 1997 plans were intending to do. LFEE[/member] is this correct? In short yes. And they are my cows so get your hands off them The Freeman were fully behind the original SJH plans as Leazes Park (certainly at the time) was not the nicest.

  18. I’d imagine without knowing him that well the biggest. Engaging the fans. I’ve followed NUFC long enough to know it takes a certain type of person for the fans to take to their hearts and it’s the ones they have have usually proven the most successful. Take off will only happen here if everyone is pulling in the same direction. It’s stating the obvious or maybe not but Klopp would be more of a success here than Pep. IMO.

  20. Sorry to end your birthday week on a low note Maybe we should have a quiz of champions with the questions set by the relegation candidates like me and Ian W[/member] to seek our revenge
