  1. Only problem is is getting those fans we had in the 90’s back into the ground in place of the Ashley apologists and modern day football fan. Lots of things have changed with football and society since then and most of them to the detriment of the match day experience. It’s the same with going to see bands on the whole these days too. Hopefully it’s a great ride if it happens but will never be like the KK days IMO. Hopefully I’m proven wrong.
  2. Just don’t forget the 80’s and 90’s brigade
  3. This. If you want to judge what he did for the club just look where we were on and off the pitch when he took over and where he left both. If you want judge his football judge him from Almiron arriving after finally getting the green light to sign one of his top targets he had wanted in the summer. You could see his plan slowly developing from day one just needed backing to do it over each transfer window not just when it suited the clubs PR to do so.
  4. In these stark times this made me chuckle
  5. Was that not because it had to be sold with an accompanying adult... I jest only because you did so well on the quiz the other night. Even if you did cheat Hope the sale goes through and you and others that boycotted get their seats (and points) back

    Rafa Benítez

Which manager hasn't made bad signings? Sir Alex Ferguson signed loads of dross I've always thought Keegan's transfer record to be outstanding, at least at Newcastle. Who were his worst signings? Mathie? Hottiger? Hooper? Mathie and Hottiger were fine. Jason Drysdale maybe. His first spell doesn’t really have any massive flops as such. Mark Robinson joined and then was injured so much he had to retire so maybe him. KK’s transfer dealings for NUFC were outstanding. Would still love to know his NET spend as I think many people will be surprised to find out he didn’t spend that much in the end.
  7. Who would of thought it only take everyone to stop going to the matches for Ashley to decide to sell up......
  8. Doubtful. If it got Rafa back and we grew organically I’d be more than happy.
  9. Yes first two were great and recommend anyone joining who is unsure. A bit earlier would be ideal (7:30) but no biggie if not.
  10. I'd agree, though I'd say 'limited' rather than 'awful' on the ball. He's unfortunate to be half-way between a centre back and a full back. Centre back in a back three probably sees him at his best. All this basically. Was rock solid under Rafa and he always seemed to like one attacking FB and one stay at home FB. Spoke out about Bruce and got binned. Not a player for where you want to eventually be but was perfectly fine for how Rafa was building the club in those 3 seasons.
  11. Hour earlier (7ish) would suite me better but no worries if no good for others.
  12. Anyone who got full marks on the stadium round a deserved winner
  13. I thought the same for at least 4 of them
  14. Well I was going to play the I was old enough to remember card Always remembered it to be him (D Mc). He had black hair slicked back into a ponytail. His joints were knackered by the time we signed him as he’d been playing on the original plastic pitches at Luton. Not many games shown live in those days but always caught my eye when we played. Few good long range goals. Possibly in the FA Cup. Can’t recall him playing more than once or twice for us.
  15. Me neither... Sure it was Darren Mc...from Luton
  16. Stay at home. Protect N-O. Save the quiz.
  17. Basically this. Saw the sense for the Championship so wasn’t so concerned. The bonus is when needed he’s not let us down much in the EPL. No doubt Rafa would’ve progressed the squad if he had control and would’ve probably gone this summer if not last.
  18. I’d certainly cut it. Maybe to 10 initially but 9 would be fun. Think Van Basten suggested it a few year ago. The same van basten that wants rid of the offside law. Wonder how the game would be without it. The fear originally was always goal hanging.
  19. If you are going off total spells then he’s 3rd behind Kruhl & Given but as a snapshot I’d have him top of the pile. Overall he’s the best. Kruhl maybe best shot stopper until injury. Given best 1v1. Dubravka best command of box and distribution. Can hardly fault is shot stopping but a slight blind spot for ones actually hit closer to him.
  20. I’d certainly cut it. Maybe to 10 initially but 9 would be fun. Think Van Basten suggested it a few year ago.
