It's amazing how little he knows all things considered Most local papers at least have some idea what's going on but he knows absolutely f***ing nothing. It's staggering. Whenever anyone pulls him up on his writing ability/lack of knowledge/incoherent sentence structures he just replies 'I've been doing this for 20 years' as if that's some sort of burn I'm not a Geordie or from the NE but I hate the way this guy is the main representative for sports journalism up there. It's an insult to the region. Yep. I've heard him on Talksport before. They were pretty much openly ridiculing him and he came across like such a mong. Which is quite an achievement on that station. Seeing as about 80% of their presenters are complete buffoons. He is one of the reasons why the 'Geordie Nation' s**** gets repeated and why a lot of fans of other clubs think we're unrealistic and have high expectations, expect success etc. I'm sure he's been on SSN as well and he was just as bad. How did he get that job, I wonder? The last time he was on Talksport he had obviously been drinking as it was late in the evening and he was unbelievably antagonistic towards the presenters who were asking reasonable questions. I can't remember the details but just that he was so unnecessarily rude and I have never heard him on the radio since. Always wondered why he was never been on BBC Newcastle's Total Sport - every other local journalist has. I've spoke to him before. Trust me it's not the drink to blame. Naturally a dickhead or summat else? Struggles to construct sentences verbally which probably explains why he struggles to construct sentences in print.

Too right. I used to love the way the Italians had such brilliant flare players but were also hard as f***ing nails where you needed to be. Tardelli did it all,the only British player who had that mentality and quality to match was Mr Souness imo. Bryan Robson says hello. Robson was a runner mate, box to box. And though he was prone to the odd foul, he wasn't in the same class as either I mentioned for bad tackles. He had more to his game than Souness and was as hard as nails. Always found Souness quite cowardly at times. He bigs himself and his team so much but I think he's still dizzy from Zico & Co running rings round him in Japan. I couldn't disagree more. Robson's strength lay in his running, sometimes even carrying his team on effort. He couldn't play a defence splitting pass like Souness,nor did have the technical ability of Souness. I at the time deplored Bobby Robson for building his England team around Robson and Butch Wilkins, when he should have built it around Hoddle with Robson doing his donkey work. Souness meanwhile went to Italy, where the game really suited his style, after the Flamengo battering of course. I agree with you that his running was immense and possibly a standout strength but so was his shooting tackling and heading which were all superior to Souness IMO. Souness the better passer and more technically creative is a fair point. As a pair they would've been immense for sure.
