I just cannot imagine it's very common for clubs to tell journalists how much they're going to spend? When they first took over they were a bit more open with the press but I don't think there's been a direct quote from anyone about our transfer business for ages?
-
Didn't Luke tweet something before essentially claiming he was trying to help the club out by lowering expectations or something? Or have I made that up?

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-isak-real-sociedad-24473437 This article aids the theory that our local journos are recieving their info from other clubs and agents, rather than being given exclusives from us.

That Pardew clip man

I'd love the idea of Scamacca but given how good Wilson is when fit any forward who cannot play out wide feels like 'wasted' resources.
-
Aye but that was his role @TRon He broke up play surprisingly well against most sides and was very tidy in getting the ball away - I wanted him out the side early on but after watching him during our good run I thought he was completely fine. Ideally Bruno takes over his role though, or we sign a better midfielder who can spray the ball about. re Spurs, I cannot remember individual performances from that game so I'll take your word hugz It might be if we're pushing up more next season that he gets exposed in more situations like.
-
Shelvey hopefully won't be our starter in the middle but neither him or Longstaff 'leave a massive hole' like. Both performed completely fine when needed.

"Newcastle would need to spend almost their entire remaining transfer budget to sign the Real Sociedad and Sweden forward" First sentence

This is what people cannot seem to grasp, not just with covid but a wide range of opinions come along with a completely unearned tinge of authority. The risks of both covid and the vaccine are obviously not fully understood and the whole thing is well beyond the scope of your average bloke in anycase. You just have two large sets of opposing people being whipped up into a frenzy by social media. If Kante is out there knocking on people's doors telling them the vaccine is a bioweapon then fair enough like, I don't think that's the case though?

why does it matter?

Bodes well for the players we're going for.
-
We'll naturally see more possession when we have more dangerous players at the top pf the pitch. Botman, Trippier, and Pope settling into the side and us getting more experience playing out from yhe back will help too. Bruno/Joelinto/Paqueta would be more than enough against most of the league.
-
Just go out and fuck a lass man it's easy
-
Paqueta, he looks really special. I think it would be a lot harder to get a player of his mould in ahead of the top sides even in a year of twos time..
-
Bruno moves infront of the defence and Paqueta plays RCM. Or Joelinton and Bruno play as a double pivot with Paqueta ahead.
-
Wasn't he outed as a literal nonce? Like he was following 14yr old Twitch streamers on Twitter n that?
-
Paqueta looks like he could basically play anywhere in the final 2/3s of the pitch. If there's any hope we could get him it seems like it would be silly not to go for it.
-
You mean where Botnan came here, and it turned out to have never really been much of a contest? Arsenal will be a bigger draw for young players than Milan like.
-
6m? Or am I looking at the wrong thing here?
-
In what way? Those signings look absolutely shite,
-
DCL is good looking enough that he can basically wear what he wants. Gordon cannot quite get away with the same like
-
I spend hours on it My biggest hope is that there's a few things in Pope's game that will take us up a notch tbh, allowing Howe to further implament what he wants to do. Being calm under preasure and the ability to play around teams pressing from the front would benefit us further trying to play out from the back for example. As would Pope's apparent qualities as a sweeper. Whether or not he's actually better than Dubs at those things is well beyond my eye like
-
It's misleading if you're using it to claim Dubravka's distribution is much better than Pope's because you had a hunt about on FBRef like. Keepers are heavily restricted by the system they play under. I'm not saying there's nothing in what you saw but it's obviously nowhere near enough to make an informed opinion. It can literally be a case of Lascelles/Schar being instructed to come close and recieve the ball, compared to Burnley defenders staying higher up and not requesting it to feet (Not saying that is the case like).
-
Dubravka's distribution isn't loads better than Pope's, atleast there's little chamce 9f that being the case. The stats are likely being misleading there.
