It's obviously something that fans will take to heart but it's hardly strong evidence he's a bad charecter or out.
-
Tbf playing a full season's worth of games he probably wouldn't have been far off 40 goal involvements. He started relatively slowly at PSG too. Took 5 games to get off the mark and then was heavily involved for the rest of the season. He's in his mid 30s and nowhere near as physically perfect as Ronaldo like, so he could continue to decline pretty quickly.
-
Well nah cause yous are both talking shite I've never claimed he was great 'by Messi's standards' so not even sure what yous are going onabout. He's 35 and was involved in 20 goals in 24 starts. His general stats are also still insane. He hasn't 'flopped' and he wasn’t 'mediocre'.
-
Only 24 starts though. It's not up there with his absurd numbers from Barcelona but he was still easily one of the best players in Ligue 1.
-
Mediocre Messi got 14 assists and 6 goals.
-
Aye, don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting him to hit 10+, but I wouldn't be massively suprised to see him improve to the point he's a decent squad option beyond being just a tactical lump up top. Trippier back and a proper RW option cannot hurt. He looked lethargic and slow to react last season, and hopefully that can be sorted a bit too.
-
Toney looked a proper handful every time I saw him. I'd still prefer a <22 year old wonderkid as an understudy to Wilson though, or a CF who can cover the wings.
-
Maxi Wilson Harrison Really strong front three if that's it. I sort of prefer Harrison to Diaby too. Diaby is very likely the better player but Harrison feels much more suited to Howe, especially considering Maxi won't be doing much dirty work.

Never actually clicked that child lovers twitter before, I just assumed the highlights were posted here. Don't think I ever would have realised his entire account was literally dedicated to forced Saudi outrage

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup

He's actually proper likeable. I was rooting for him before because it was pretty shan how much he was basically getting bullied but he's actually very watchable I'm probably not going to power through his content but he's definitely got something about him. -

Doesn't Adam P just have whatever speech impediment Jonathan Ross has? Just seemingly without much therapy so he occasionally strings together a proper mad sentence -
Think it was Villa where he definitely should have been off like Sure he just launched McGinn on a yellow at one point (fair enough really). Burn was a walking red at times too. In any case he was arguably the best ball winner in the league last season, if Howe can improve his decision making he'll be worth a lot more than 40m.
-
He's my favourite player like, just a big, lovable, nasty bastard.
-
Won the keague with Liverpool playing a formation and system Howe will largely be trying to replicate like. His wages would probably be daft though, and Paqueta is really the only player I want. If we don't get him I might kill myself, you wouldn't want that would you, Darren Eales?
-
Is exile a nonce like his mate?
-
This is exactly what I want like. Growing our team with quality players is more important than finishing in an upper mid-table position over a mid-table one.
-
I was wanting to check out Athletico Madrid like, 50% possession last season. 52% the season before when they won the league. Obviously Howe famously had a romantic weekend over there with Simeone and would have taken a lot away from it.
-
Don't get me wrong, I don't think our run will be replicated. It was a freak patch in some sense. But we did it without ever really looking our best (except Everton 3-1, and Arsenal 2-0). Usually when teams are punching there's a clear purple patch from an attacker (who will then fade off, or leave) or something like that. Our form seemed to be purely down to Howe getting his tactics spot on.
-
He got 22m for Almiron so it's highly likely he's some kind of genius.
-
Who the fucks this cunt like?
-
To add to that, as I've mentioned him playing RW for us but want to sort of clear my name here For me it's not so much bringing Paqueta in to play right wing, just that if he's the only signing we make I'd rather play him on the right with one of Willock/Longstaff/Shelvey in midfield, rather than Fraser/Almiron/Murphy on the wing and Paqueta RCM. It's hypothetical though as I cannot see us not signing a dedicated right winger.
-
He would come in ideally as a RCM but he could almost certainly cover the right wing like.
-
How do you set up those possession tables on TransferMarkt, Kaka?
-
I cannot remember seeing many newly promoted sides comfortably contain the entire league (other than Liverpool, City and Spurs) over half a season like. Obviously we don't want to be starting with Shelvey or Longstaff in an ideal world but Howe has us extremely well drilled. Usually lesser teams do it with a low block and absolute aids football. It's not even like we were spawny either, or relied on purple patches from attacking players. Our attack was absolute garbage it's impossible it could be any worse next season.

Howe can hopefully coach ASM and Joelinton into using the ball better too.
