  1. "They are arguing that the sharing arrangement helps them to sign high-quality players and keep the league, as Scudamore describes it, “competitive and compelling” and therefore attractive on TV." Surely this is grounds for Richard Scudamore being sectioned?
  2. I must have edited my post as you were typing, but yeah. Nobody is getting their knickers in a twist or 'following Dave', I honestly have no idea what you're going on about there. We have to take each game as the come and treat every game as if we can get a result, obviously with a weighted expectancy that it is more likely we will take more points on average from lesser teams come the end of the season. But if we play absolutely shite against Liverpool and get battered then there shouldn't just be an acceptance of "well we never could have won this game anyway" and thankfully Rafa will definitely not be looking at it that way either.
  3. You said we need to just 'write off' at least 12 games which is obviously completely insane. As has been pointed out we picked up 13 points from the top 6 last time we were in the league. Rafa's record against the ones he played was W1 D2 L1. In total out of 12 games "the most likely result" only happened 5 times and we were managed for most of them by Steve McClaren..
  4. Benitez's results with our awful relegation squad against Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham were 1-1, 2-2 & 5-1. Tottenham did nowt until Shelvey was sent off first game too, although it being the first game might have played a part. I feel more confident of a performance in these games than I do against the likes of Brighton like. We'll not make it easy for them.
  5. Fucking hell, that's pretty big. He had an odd relationship with the club to say the least but, looking back, I doubt many of us would have had much of the 90s and early 00s any other way. RIP
  6. A young squad with varied PL experience. aye that's fair. The core of our midfield and defence is very promising tbh.
  7. I'm not sure what to think like, I think we show shite teams far too much respect, yesterday and the Huddersfield game we just looked fucking bad against poor opposition. We just never looked comfortable and they (especially Brighton) were clearly in control of the game. Letting them have all of the ball and then being incredibly sloppy and wasteful the limited time we have it. On the other hand when we look sharp and our passing and pressing is better - like against West Ham, Swansea and Stoke - we look really comfortable in creating chances without the ball. EDIT: Ultimately I suppose it just comes down to the inconsistencies of having a fairly poor squad.
  8. He'll be banned now like, we've proper grassed him up.
  9. Aye, see Nobody's post in the film thread about nobody being 'offended' by things they're not a fan of
  10. "If I had one wish in life it wouldn't be world peace or everyone living happily to a 120 years of age it would be that complete helmet westy didn't support Sunderland."
  11. I'm not worried about him like, this time last year Atsu was in a similar boat behind Gouffran. He'll get his chance.
  12. Aye, I don't think he put a great deal of thought into the article or the scores or anything It's Daily Mail tat, but they basically dispel everything he says with a few stats and the fact Harry Kane is English so Redknap must be talking shite 'cos he hates the forrins. EDIT: They're being slightly ripped to shreds for that part in the comments like
  13. They've basically just used the stats thing we were having a conversation about on here and 100% Pardewed it though It's all a bit pointless and Daily Mail like, but the article really isn't anywhere near as bad as they're making it out to be: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4915482/Tottenham-Harry-Kane-complete-striker-Jamie-Redknapp.html
  14. It's just so fucking frustrating having basically no attack like. Wouldn't be surprised if Shelvey and Gayle start from now on. EDIT: Not Shelvey behind Gayle, just the 2 of them starting.
  15. Struggling to think of a side in the history of football more desperate for a new front 2.
  16. Honestly watching us last season we made it look almost impossible to not get promoted.
  17. There is something very soothing about it.
  18. it quite obviously happened like. Not sure why you're so sceptical of literally every encounter someone might have with a player or person in the game out in the world but it happens. People meet people. Not everyone is some massive attention seeking liar looking for internet credits. It's in the past now though, not just those quotes which are nice, but he's got on with his job well enough. It still annoys me that we never improved on him but, when we do, he'll still be handy to have around as back-up. EDIT: What you're suggesting here is that TheGuv got in from a night on the piss and his first thought was get straight onto the internet to concoct some massive conspiracy in an effort to defame a pointless NUFC player for absolutely no reason. Not just "I saw Elliott being a cunt in town", but to actually sit at his PC and construct an entire conversation at 3 in the morning.
