  1. Aye, I expect him to take the 'safe' route instead of trying anything clever. If Colback's fit he'll start imo.
  2. Honestly I can only assume people are wilfully playing dim at this point because they 'don't think it's that bad'. Which is fair enough. I don't think Shelvey's a horrendous racist on the back of this either. I don't think calling someone an 'Arab prick' is the end of the world or out. It's not on, but we can move on from it. It's quite obviously not just "calling an Arab an Arab" though, and the FA rules state that any abuse aimed at a player's ethnicity/religion/nationality is a 5 game minimum ban. Hence why it would also be a 5 game minimum ban for calling someone an "English cunt", or a "Mexican cunt", or a "Jap Cunt" if it was reported. Aye, this is basically my view. I don't think he's a racist and that what he has said is racist as such but he's broken the rules and we have to accept the outcome of it, the FA are not picking on us etc, they were given a complaint and have dealt with it. What i will say, his defense could had been better organised in terms how it was presented to the FA. Also he needs to learn to keep his gob shut at times. Honsetly I think this, combined with his red rescinded from the Forrest game, he's massively lucky to have only got 5 games. I was expecting a combination of around 10. I don't believe it, but I can see why other clubs think the FA favour us (like we would with the top Prem clubs).
  3. We've actually been through this before (probably many times) : Since you put it before "bastard", same way as lots of other stuff? "e.g. "black" or "white" aren't derogatory terms on their own. "There's a black man standing in the hallway." vs "There's a fat black bastard standing in the hallway." I don't even know why this needs to be explained.

  5. Surely you realise it's almost impossible to create a demonstration when things aren't going terrible like, howay man. SP started with a massive bang though where as AO was a lot more subdued, it would have been very hard to get the same kind of support SP did at any point really. In any case it's pretty clear you want to believe SP had no influence at all, despite a demonstration actually bringing Pardew to tears on the touchline (), so fair enough. I don't think there's any coincidence he looked completely untouchable until that point though, and he fled at the first opportunity.
  6. The whole aim was to get the damning stats out into the public domain and to give people a voice - 'shola's right that the fans were on the turn - as they were several times under him - they just lacked the tools to create an effective protest due to the disjointed nature of our support at the time. Before SP there was only really the Cardiff game when True Faith (?) nicked Hezza's idea It was stifled - and not as powerful as it could have been at times - as every-time Pardew picked up a win all the large number of idiots were desperate to throw it back. "Where's your banners now!" etc. I'm pretty certain that it played a huge role in him choosing to leave for Palace though, if it wasn't for the fan protests I don't think he leaves at all. And in turn that's led to Rafa. Obviously SP didn't "change Ashley's mind" or out, but the protests played a role in it eventually happening. I had nowt to do with SP like, but I saw the massive amount of effort that went into it by some.
  7. "This was a reference to what apparently is known as “cashing someone off.”" The FA statement makes it sound like it's a craze
  8. If somene was moronic enough to call anyone an "English prick" in the Premiership I'm pretty sure they'd be given the same ban if it was reported like The FA aren't a bunch of new-age hippies.
  9. Basically this. Th FA made a specific movement to stamp out racist/xenophobic remarks. I'm not going to hate Shelvey for shouting "arab cunt" like. It's not on though and the ban is fully justified.
  10. "Arab cunt" could have been worse I suppose Glad we're just getting this over with, hope he comes back better for it.
  11. Brighton doing him too would be delicious. Really hope he gets a quick job down here.
  12. If we get to turn his new team over this season
  13. It looks like he's actually used bootpolish No idea why you would do that when you're even just semi in the public eye like. Thick as fuck
  14. Be a lucky, lucky man to get away with that.
  15. I'm seem to remember him coming on at villa and having a half hearted attempt at getting to the ball or making a tackle just before they scored? I just can't see the guy featuring in a Benitez team playing at a high level. I cannot remember, possibly. I'm talking about starts though, other than Blackburn I don't think he's put a foot wrong.
  16. Bang on. These things always get turned into it being 'an attack on our freedoms' though which just makes it nauseating. It's fair enough to suggest that the FA are being too heavy handed, just utterly ridiculous when it's accompanied by conspiracy theories such as the FA trying to make the league interesting, the Wolves players working together to get a rival banned (and not having a conversation about what they're going to say), and questioning whether being called an English cunt is as bad as 'smelly Arab' (pretty sure you'd rightfully be banned for both). I hope Shelvey gets off with it, and it seems like there's a chance if the evidence is as light as the Guardian have made out.
  17. Mitrovic or Perez possibly. Don't think it'd be Atsu who I think is the only other one it could be. True Faith may be overstating things for hits like.
  18. Aye, at times he runs around like a man possessed but then at other times he doesn't jump for headers, doesn't close down defenders, etc. When you portray yourself like Mitro does, then you have to be like that all the time I'm sure there's reasons like. He obviously wants to start every game so I cannot see how it would benefit him to saunter about when given a chance. Only really Blackburn (which I never saw but going off reports) where I think he's started and hasn't got himself involved though this season.
  19. I don't get that at all like, he might have quiet games now and then but he's often all over the pitch. At the back end of last season he could hardly be faulted for not trying when he came on, and in 4 of the 5 starts he's had this season he's scored or assisted at least 1 goal.
