  1. McLaren's fetish of hamstringing our midfield is starting to get on my tits like.
  2. I actually agree that TDC is unfairly called thick and that, he's not, he clearly knows as much as most when it comes to football, but as I've said before, his habit of essentially telling people they're wrong all the time is grating whether he means it or not And you cannot try and lecture everyone about the differences of high pressing and gegenpressing and then agree a defensive midfielder and a holding midfielder are one and the same, howay. "Ah right sorry, thought astro was talking about a holding midfielder for some reason" is all it takes man
  3. I'm responding to a person who unironically uses the term gegenpressing and insists on it's slight differences to high pressing, man. Of course they're not equal Defensive midfielder has always been a pretty loose term, where as a holding midfielder is someone who usually sits in front of the back 4.
  4. I probably would revise mine to Perez tbh, being the fickle man that I am.
  5. Nobody said N'Zonzi was a holding midfielder though. You added that in yourself, seemingly so you could display you expert knowledge of Steven N'Zonzi.
  6. That arsehole can fuck off like.
  7. Swansea and Man Utd made them look a complete joke too (difficult to judge the Arsenal game but the few minutes we had 11 men weren't great), they're horrible together, at least one of them needs to go, ideally both. I cannot remember seeing Sissoko ever play in central midfield tbh so I'll just have to take your word for it, he used to play box to box in France though and he obviously has the energy for it here. I'm still not sure he'd be up to it like and Anita will probably have to sit in there.
  8. In any case I'm not too sure Sissoko and Wijnaldum will work but I can see why people want it. It's a choice of being potentially imbalanced or potentially shit, we'll probably be shit either way.
  9. Mozy thinks we should continue what we're doing man, it's going great.
  10. I was wondering who Q from Impractical Jokers reminded me off, it's fucking Gog.
  11. I think suggestions of playing only Tiote as a DM and the rest as CMs is probably the best way we can go back to basics as a team and we should start seeing results. This is what people were saying from the start though, it's what Colback and Anita was meant to be about. "Keep it tight until the 5 years of Pardew is therapeutically removed from their minds and then we'll turn into full on gegenpressing globetrotters." We cannot start it again imo, we have to start going at teams.
  12. I'm all for just throwing our attackers on. It might be absolutely terrible but it'll be fun. It isn't any worse, tactically, than playing fucking Anita and Colback anyway.
  13. The freedom to sit anywhere he likes on the bench?
  14. Fucking hell, just remembered we ended the Man Utd game with a midfield 3 of Anita, Tiote & Colback
  15. Exactly man. Sissoko and Wijnaldum are our most dynamic midfielders, play them central behind 4 attackers and see what happens. The alternative is to repeat what we've seen so far. No, there're definitely other alternatives. The only other alternative is Anita or Colback. That's it. The type of central midfielder we need we don't have, even someone like Diame would walk into our side.
  16. We've never even really seen Sissoko there have we? Not that I can remember anyway. I don't think he'll be up to it but it's where he apparently played for Toulouse as both a box-to-box and a defensive mid. If it clicks it'll be worth it too, where as you have an obvious ceiling with Anita or Colback.
  17. Hoyed Man City into this because I'm a plagiarist cunt.
  18. When Mitrovic returns we'll have options, but really for Watford the team picks itself, the only thing worth considering is if Sissoko plays or not imo. If he does he can either stay on the wing or come into midfield alongside Wijnaldum with Aarons coming in on the left and Thavin switching to right. The latter would obviously see Anita and Colback both out where as the former would see Anita remain alongside Wijnaldum. I'm not sure tbh, but we would be far, far better as a team if Wijnaldum and Sissoko could form a solid central midfield partnership.
