I'd honestly rather keep Pardew than Sherwood like for no other reason than at the age of 45 Sherwood actually saluted one of his players in the middle of a football match.

get that PNGd -
I didn't say it was a dreadful tactic, just not something he should be lauded for Who's lauding him for it? He made a decision in that game and it worked, I just thought it was pretty odd of you to single it out as a negative.
-
And what a dreadful tactic that was... It's just complete bollocks, man. Trying to boil one of the best managers in world football down to that nonesense. He's quite obviously a very tactical manager, he sets his team out based on the opposition, that doesn't mean he's always bang on but it's how he does it. On the opposite end of the spectrum you have someone like Keegan who didn't really care much about tactics, it was just getting your players fit and attacking the opposition.

I cannot be arsed with your shit matter-of-fact craic this morning like.
-
Defensively Shaw is very sound and Johnson is decent with 1-on-ones. We also have Ashley Cole, who despite his decline is still sound defensively.

None of what you're saying is worth trying A left side of Dummett and Haidara is pretty much my footballing worst nightmare. -
Stopped reading after that. It's just utter bullshit.
-
Calm down, Hans Meh, I like this team tbh, I think we can find a decent balance with it which we've always struggled with before (not helped by having an abundance of big names in the squad). It's young and energetic. We'll not win it like, obviously, but I think this group has as good a chance as any other we've seen for a long time now.
-
Didn't realise Terry had fully retired like But aye, as Rich says I'm pretty exited, I don't really want this to be an experimental tournament and I don't think it has to be one, I think we've got as good a chance as we've had in nearly 2 decades.
-
I like that front 6, there will obviously be contention but I'd probably just play Terry starting over Jagielka just to try stick with a little fuss as possible, they're playing well for Chelsea, keep them together. Baines is Baines, he starts over Cole and Shaw for me, especially considering we're not exactly blessed with the most direct of left wingers.
-
Baines goes in at LB ahead of Shaw every single time tbh. I hope Lallana and Barkley are seen, not sudr I'd start them though.

Hope it's right tbh. -
They do lack fitness and regularly can't perform for 90 minutes, although they do put their matches to bed in the first half. Still I'd be worried with a Liverpool backbone in the heat and humidity of the Brazilian rainforest But the can and regularly do?
-
Players will only get found out, or "will not be ready" if they're hoyed into a stupid system and are played out of their comfort zone, which tbh is what I think will end up happening. Sterling is proving that he can play consistently well in the Premiership as is Henderson and Sturridge, no reason at all they shouldn't be ready to, you know, play football.
-
I reckon he'll be able to pull himself round in 48 hours tbf
-
I don't know why you'd feel nervy like? I'd go with all four of the English Liverpool front 6, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling and Sturridge. Probably Rooney and Welbeck in there.
-
Nah, Pardew will be over the fucking moon tbh.
-
From that same article, but not posted for some reason... FWIW I think there's more involved here than whether or not he's having rows with his manager or his team-mates There is, his manager is absolutely terrible.
-
Hatem's issues have absolutely nothing to do with Pardew refusing to play him. He's too attack minded, Pardew has said it himself multiple times.
-
I think my favourite is "But the most important thing is that you have to have your finger on the pulse. The Premier League is changing every year and you've got to be right at the cutting edge of it." Primarily because it makes no sense on any level.
-
Why does he always say "The most important thing" when laying down his tripe, like it actually fucking means anything? It's doing my head in “The most important thing for us is history is heavy on us." “The most important thing is the injuries have had a real impact on the team." "The most important thing for us is our Premier League status now because we've put ourselves at risk with all the injuries and the run we're on." "The most important thing for us is creating more chances." "I'm not urging anything other than my players putting in a better performance, that is the most important thing because you get disappointments in the Premier League and we've had them before." “I told him my opinion but the most important thing when you get through that process is coming out the other side that you’re still intact. Fortunately, me and Yohan have come through that intact, and that’s important.” "But the most important thing is the next game and then in the period after that and before I reach the next landmark, 200 games, hopefully a trophy of some description that our fans are desperate for and, in my opinion, thoroughly deserve." "The most important thing is having an inner belief and faith in what you do." “I think the most important thing is the injuries have had a real impact on the team, no doubt about that. You do not have to be a genius to work that out." “The most important thing about this whole scenario is that the club wins, no one else." "But the most important thing is that you have to have your finger on the pulse. The Premier League is changing every year and you've got to be right at the cutting edge of it." "We lost Fabricio Coloccini and Papiss Cisse to slight injuries. I couldn't risk losing them because the most important thing to us is our Premier League status." “I am just urging my players to put in a better performance than they did on Saturday, that’s the most important thing to me." “All the players that have come here have improved, I can’t think of one who hasn’t. That is the most important thing when you are looking at your coaching strategy.” "The most important thing is that they back us, regardless of how much they love Chris, it’s about us winning." “But the most important thing is when I stand next to him on Saturday I’m not having any friendship with him. He knows that. I want to beat him. At the moment this season it’s 1-0 to me!" ""If you have really long trips, four or five hours, it is almost impossible. So we have to be very intelligent in what we do, but the most important thing is that we put a Newcastle team out which we think is going to win." “The most important thing for this group is that there’s a recognition that when you don’t do the job correctly, that it must be done correctly.” It's fucking ridiculous
-
"They keep the ball and frustrate you. We have to be patient and take our chances" sums the fucking muppet up that does. Yeah, lets not work on keeping the ball ourselves and frustrating them, we'll just be patient instead, all the great teams do that.

His balls are getting quite large tbh, we need a few losses to thin them down a bit. -

Is there a manager on the planet who sets his entire team up dependent on the quality of his centre backs?
