..seems to be the point where opinion divides. I thought it was significant how poorly he performed when played out wide. For sure that's not his best position, but he couldn't run with the ball, and he couldn't keep it when put under pressure near the touchline. His poor touch on the ball really got exposed. As a striker he concentrates on finding space between defenders and hitting the ball early when it comes through to him. It's a bit hit and miss, but when he's on target he has the advantage of an early strike. That's fine as far as it goes, but is that enough for a club of our ambition to be building the team around for the future? I don't think so. We shouldn't build a team around Cisse, no, but he should be our main striker, yes. Seriously wish this season would end and Pardew would fuck off so we can cut this out. No doubt at all that in a decent side the bloke will be absolutely lethal.

We won't even be on Bayern's level though and we don't need to be, it doesn't mean that we cannot effectively function together as a unit in this league though without an all rounder up front. And you mention money in one sentence saying "we cannot do this" and then in the next you mention a World Class player probably rated at around £30m+ and use him as an example. Very few strikers are at Lewandowski's level so you cannot really use him in the argument, you can only use players who we actually have a chance of bringing to the club at this moment in time. And we'd have to do very, very well to upgrade Cisse.

As I said before, I'd prefer a side that functions well together as opposed to having to rely on any striker at all, regardless of their style. If you criticise Cisse for not doing everything then you have to criticise every other player on the pitch too.

All the lad offers is goals and he's not great at that either. What I would like is a striker that can contribute to the other 10 players and isn't just reliant on the others performing for him. Doesn't do enough for the team. Not brilliant at what he does.

If he isn't trying to deceive people then what exactly is he trying to do by directing blatant lies and/or excuses to those people? Is this an inside joke that I havn't got the memo for or something? It's not just that he constantly talks shit though it's that people people actually buy his patter, comments such as "he has had his hands tied" have been used many times this season, or at least they had until a couple of weeks ago.
