Pardew persisting with Cisse on the wing is still worse than anything Benito ever did to be fair.
  4. Can't see who else we'd play really. He's done alright in fits and starts down that left hand side. There's not much pace in the side. Marveaux? I can understand not playing him there mind as he doesn't look at all a winger (especially one who will go outside), but unless Obertan sticks in one of his rare acceptable performances I think we'd be better off just plonking Marv out there and praying he plays a killer ball through to Cisse.
  5. We're stocked in midfield but massively miss penetration from the wings with Gouffran unavailable and Ben Arfa dead. Such a shame.
  6. Was worried for a second there, thought he'd pulled out
  7. Sissoko not playing? Personally I'd want to see Jonas playing the role he did against Anzhi alongside Cabaye and Anita.
  8. I just hope we don't sit back and get utterly embarrassed.
  9. Chelsea won the Champions League, beating Barcelona and Bayern Munich along the way whilst simultaneously finishing 6th in the Premiership and conceding a 2-0 defeat at home to us. It's very likely that Benfica would challenge in the top 5, but they would be amongst Man U, Man C, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal. And just outside of that you have Everton and Liverpool (if they sort themselves out). Newcastle could easily get back amongst it as well with a bit of investment in the summer (providing Pardew doesn't relegate us like). In short, I do think Benfica would finish top 5, maybe even top 3. But it wouldn't be a certainty by any means.
  10. Benfica wouldn't be guaranteed top 5 just as Chelsea weren't last season (when they won the Champions League). There's only really the 2 Manchester clubs who will be guaranteed a place there next season imo.
  11. We're playing Benfica. It would be an insult to football if Alan Pardew starts Shola Ameobi against Benfica. It won't happen though.
  12. Also, fucking pack it in. You are clearly insane. What's insane in my logical comments? Remind me the lineup that grinded a win in Kharkiv The bit in bold fella. In what way will he gain ground? All the big useless plank will do is stand around admiring all the passing and movement around him. He'll probably win some knockdowns and fouls. And he also has presence... I bet their CB's are already dreading the fact that they'll be taking one or two elbows in the face Actually fuck this, I'm out.

"At least Di Canio is honest about his fascist views " Are you a fascist Paolo? "Uh, I do not have to answer that because there was a statement and it was very clear and this is not the houses of parliament and I don't have to talk about politics" So was that yes or no "IS RIDICULOUS! IS RIDICULOUS FOR ME! I DO NOT HAVE TO TALK ABOUT, IS RIDICULOUS" I know what you're saying, but I think his latest refusal to answer questions was more a desire to move on from the issue than a desire to deny what he has said in the past. My only worry about the furore over his views is that I don't think it should necessarily be impossible for someone with strong political views to hold a senior or public position. The result of that is that everyone is battling to say that they believe the same thing and diversity of opinion is damaged. Obviously the fans and sponsors etc have the right to object to him as well. pretty much my feelings.

Just seemed a fairly roundabout way to effectively agree with "he's not a criminal". He could randomly go berserk on the touchline and start knocking people out too. I don't think he'll last long enough to do anything stupid anyway tbh, I would be pretty surprised if he's there beyond next January.

Now, I'm not sure of the law in the UK, but I would have thought that if he pulled his "Roman salute" at the Stadium of Light he would be committing a criminal act? He certainly would in Australia, under Racial Hatred and Villification legislation. Just a thought... Has he done that like? Because if he hasn't, and he hasn't been charged for it in a court of law then what exactly are you talking about?
