Yes, that's what I meant. One of the front 3 but with no special "role", like he'd be free to move where he wants and find space... He hit the post against Citeh and won a pen at OT floating about in the middle. It wasn't enough to get him in the team though.
  2. More than anything that photo shows Guthrie having stopped. The final error in that chain of errors.
  3. Perchie did well aye. Part of their joy down our left was from a strong and positive first half from Sagna. He's class. Possibly they were set up to attack that side and drag Colo out, leaving Williamson on van Persie. That's how they scored anyway. They didn't seem so intent on attacking Simpson with Chamberlain, a just as tasty 1 vs. 1.
  4. Never five minutes in a million years but that was very naive dropped bollock at the end there. As someone suggested, even after giving them the ball, someone should have taken a yellow to stop the break. For all the latest media kneejerk lovefest for Arsenal, Liverpool did outplay them at Anfield, so it would have been nice to have not sat back so much in the second half. Obertan again showed why he shouldn't be picked ahead of HBA as he was for many games.
  5. Some quality ballwatching there from Citeh.
  6. That's a superb stat will be using that against the bin-dippers on Sunday. PS: Superb title edit Before that Arsenal own goal, Downing was on no league goals and one assist per ten games. That's the same as Christian Poulsen, Woy's most pilloried signing who cost one quarter of the price.
  7. As for Liverpool yesterday, it wasn't a question of bad finishing this week. They didn't create any chances!
  8. He still seems to overplay it in dangerous areas and gets caught out now and again. Great player though. What might have been.
  9. i'd rather they stopped up than wolves. With Venky's and Kean such a comic shambles and their own fans against them, I must say I've come to quite like them. A bit like Chelsea in the CL final when they all wanted Avram Grant out. I'd much rather Mark Hughes relegated the richest promoted club.
  10. Maybe an obvious comment, but I think it helps him to have a threat (i.e., HBA) on the other side. The defence can just rotate to his side if he's the main out-ball.
  11. He made a meal of it, but so did the mackem that got Cabaye booked for what looked like minimal contact. In fact so do many players who get any kind of challenge at all. Its all very cringeworthy. It's ridiculous for any pundit to be focusing on gamesmanship by someone who has been punched just after Arsenal have conceded two penalties in two weeks from players who went down without being touched at all. All Tiote did was highlight an offence that was already a red card. Bale and Suarez got penalties when there was no foul. That is a much higher level of cheating.
  12. It's nice to have clubs in the league that are clearly run worse than us. I'm not sure you could always have said that in the past. Big payday for AVB and he's failed in the face of a dodgy owner and an aging entrenched dressing room with increasingly faltering players like Cech and Terry. If Mourinho is coming back next season, the circus should be fun, even if some of the football won't be.

Especially when we've given so much time to Obertan, a lesser player who needs to be given exactly the same time and patience to see if he will deliver.
  14. MoN brings on Wayne Bridge, quite possibly the best example of an overpaid and overrated English "name" player, the type he bought by the bucketload at Villa, and he switches off to let Shola in to score. It's almost poetic.

    Chris Waddle

I always thought he left because of Jack Charlton and his mad 4-2-4 with Waddle and Beardo out wide for Cunningham and Reilly. Waddle was a class player and one of a handful who've made it on the continent. He seems to have a massive chip on his shoulder about us now mind. I didn't hear him today, but I remember him saying said Villa deserved to be 3-0 up in the game we did them 6-0.
  16. FALL BACK! RETREAT! Pardy Time!
  17. Lets see how another team do at home 2-0 up against Wolves in the first half.
  18. Aye, Woy's only four points back now.
  19. Unlucky with the header. Shame about the penalty, though quite a good save. He'll be back.

Well in son! What a legend!

Must play next week. I'd like to see him on the left though. Playing inside out only encourages him to shoot more than is probably welcome.
  22. I think there's more of a problem with what Tiote and Cabaye are being told to do, and with their options out wide, than simply with their ability to play together. I bet Krul could throw it forty yards to a wide player too, if Pardew told him too.
  23. Up to 40 mins I was relieved it was only 0-1 from a gift. A bit better at the end though, but I hope Pards focuses what happened before that. Both our wide players are passengers. Cabaye's been poor too, but he's had no options. Strikers aren't even getting scraps. Krul caught at least two corners then kicked long twenty seconds later when everyone is back. That's very poor instructions. (the Ba one looked a pen to me)
