  1. Sky struggling to hide their disappointment there.
  2. Hasselbaink clearly punching it into the net didn't help SBR that season either. What would have happened if we'd started the season with a win?
  3. In hindsight, it might have helped more had he gone for the foul in the first half (the first pull at the half way line, not the offence he got booked for). We were still one up then. Anyway, it was a massive warning that Pardew didn't heed in spite of having half time to deal with it.
  4. Lucky at the end there and silly to be leaving it one on one with against him of all people and them playing with the wind. Deserved lead on the whole though. Should be easier for Krul with the wind.

Isn't the current system a bit of leveler? Join the Man U or Arsenal academy if you like, but your chance of getting the high level football you'll need to develop is limited.

    Leon Best

Look at the goal records of the players I listed. People paid lots for them. Anyway, I like him and the price is only a bit craic. He's a great option to have. One of the tactics folks mentioned it recently, but if you're losing at the end of the game, its more effective to bring on a physical striker than a skilful one, because the latter will not get the space to perform against a team shutting up shop.

    Papiss Cissé

Didn't see this coming at all. On youtube, it looks like he's got a hard shot on him and he likes to attack the ball in the area with head and feet. Both are very good signs. As for the offside stat, Aguero gets caught quite a bit but its not his fault if the ball isn't delivered quickly enough. It may take time for the other players to click with him. Sounds like a bargain!

    Leon Best

I like Besty and I'm not suggesting for one second that we sell him, but wouldn't he be worth close to what we paid for Cisse? Based on Kenwyne Jones@8M, Crouch@10M, [email protected], Doyle@7M, Wickham@8M?
  9. Liverpool's problem is goals. Since last January, even their top man Suarez has scored one less than Leon Best. Kuyt and Maxi got a quite a few in the second half of last season, so maybe that papered over some cracks that ended up not being addressed in the summer.
  10. Good win lads! That'll do! Shola FFS. Lets buy someone, anyone. I think his time at Citeh showed that Hughes is a joke, so that was doubly satisfying.
  11. He's not a flop, but Phil Jones has enough to learn about defending to suggest that they could have bought someone much more solid as the defensive cover they clearly needed (Carrick at CH last season etc.). They should buy another CH in this window. Nasri started well but has looked mediocre recently. Maybe its over-rotation, as the suspicion is with Dzeko. Milner's looked good of late, but he looked meh for a while after joining Citeh. It can't be easy being in and out of the team. Loaning Adebayor to Spurs could come back to hurt Citeh big time. They're not that far behind.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

In that one run, he beat more men that Obertan does in how many games?
  13. You mean Neil Taylor (Swansea)? Thanks! Couldn't remember. Anyway, I think we'll have to pay him more. With Alan Smith soon to be off the books, it mightn't hurt as much as it could have.
  14. With free signings of good players, they choose you, not you choose them. Basically we'll have to pay the going rate to keep him. Spurs aren't a mega wages club, so Twitchyface can say what he likes but they won't be in pole position. It just shows once again that he is a slimy hypocrite playing the media for what he can. What happened with that lad (Forest was it?) where we said there was an escape clause but they said it didn't mean they had to sell?
  15. It ended up much better than things looked at h-t. Moral victory for Citeh perhaps.
  16. Nearly as bad as the Rodwell decision. Great save though.
  17. Sorry if its Giggs but ManUre have only scored once against us in the last three matches, a clearance that hit Hernandez and flew in without him knowing much about it.
  18. That's shocking man! As is Dwight Yorke's punditry, it must be said.
  19. I still have my doubts, especially with the backing off, but maybe the player in front of him has been a part of his problem. On that subject, 30 seconds into second half, three-on-three -> no midfield help for Jones -> semi-professional foul -> direct free kick -> goal. Better players than Simpson can struggle when exposed.
  20. I think this is showing Liverpool to be very naive and arrogant. The FA or Prem League will not want to have to deal with this kind of morality issue and will want this to blow over as quickly as possible. However, when stuff like this comes out in the media, they have to be seen to be taking action. They are part of society after all. The clever way to play this was to admit guilt, show lots of remorse, put forward a plan to stop racism at the club, donate lots of stuff to anti-racism charities, and to appeal the length of the ban only. Since they've shown no remorse, the temptation is just to make the ban longer.
  21. Regarding the us vs. them comparison, but for an amazing clearance, we would have pegged Liverpool back to 2-2 after whatever it was, 70min? Liverpool's second came from a free kick after a non-foul. We hardly rolled over for them.
  22. Got the easiest fixtures by far so i don't see why not. Man U will drop points playing all the big teams away, City have them all at home. Man U beat Spuds 3-0 with the team in disarray over whether Modric was leaving. They also beat Arsenal 8-2 with half a team of reserves, thanks not least to Barton getting two of their first team suspended. The reverse fixtures will be much more difficult. Either way, there's still a long way to go.
