If we were to sign him on top of the other things we need then I'm all for it, but I just get the feeling we'll be conducting a very limited number of incomings if any in January, so I'd rather they were the positions we were really short on.

How very odd. Other positions I'd rather we focused on, central midfield seems to be one of the few positions where we have reasonable depth. Assuming he's a central midfielder of course.

Haven't used Cabaye yet, haven't really gotten into a game with the new transfers yet. But I imagine I'd play him box to box aye, wouldn't want to go deep-lying playmaker or there would be too much of a gap between Ben Arfa and the rest of the midfield.

I've found he's always been quite disappointing for me as a trequartista tbh. Advanced playmaker with an attack duty works better for me, makes better use of his dribbling skill.
