  1. he won almost everything with Liverpool....... He won the FA cup once and left them in a position from which they never really recovered, tbh.
  2. Tiote, Cabaye, Marveaux, Ben-Arfa, Santone, Abeid..... Havent these all arrived under his watch and probably a few others who slip my mind? what are we actually saying about these signings? french league winning captain well known french ligue 1 winger bound for liverpool 5 times (?) ligue 1 winner and all round famous frenchie ex-wonderkid italian u21 international and 'new maldini' as much as carr, unless it falls under his remit, the people who are sniffing out the deals and finalising them deserve massive amounts of credit imo I agree and assumed it was Carr doing the sniffing. Aye nobody had heard of people like Hatem Ben Arfa of Davide Santon before Carr found them. Think the credit the scout team gets is more to do with finding out that these kind of players would be available and interested in joining due to whatever circumstances and for coming to that conclusion before other clubs do, Cabaye is the ultimate example of this IMO.
  3. He's the head scout isn't he, so I imagine he'll be coordinating the efforts of a fair few other scouts employed by the club, they could be the ones doing the sniffing.
  4. eh? One game into his professional career and he's overtaken an England u-21 player (who we have invested a considerable amount of time in already) and a squad player who helped us gain promotion. By putting Abeid immediately above Guthrie, what does that say to the rest of the 'squad players' about the chances of them getting run outs? Funnily enough, we actually look like having a reasonably decent squad (despite the summer transfer protestations) We're still fairly short everywhere but midfield like.
  5. what on earth is tadcaster in their retarded little world of inside jokes and insults that are so 'inside' that no person with a modicum of intellect can genuinely comprehend? I think Tadcaster might be the town where production of Newcy Brown was moved to?
  6. Was going to say I'd have his babies, but the last time someone said that...
  7. The opening poster then expanded on what he said later on and said it would be a good signing if he plays and does well but a bad one if he gets put out of action for another year or something then it's a bad one. I'm not really sure what the point of that statement is like but there you go
  8. A championship standard footballer, basically.
  9. That thread on the fairs cup is still running btw 20 pages.
  10. Lets not get carried away. We need to see him do well in a few premier league games before we go proclaiming signing him a massive success.
  11. It's nice to have such a selection dilemma.
  12. Amazing how this myth still does the rounds.
  13. Don't forget how he was 'subbed off against blackpool for being too s***' Must have been particularly bad if we brought him on with 15 minutes to go and then had to take him off again. Edit: great minds
  14. They've gone back to Ben Arfa now http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=629937
  15. Have I inadvertently shagged your wife or ran over your cat? Or maybe you've ran over his wife and sh - never mind.
  16. Paolo Wanchope. Interesting. Hang on, you know what? I think he might be a bit like Kanu.
  17. Have we mentioned that he's like Kanu?
  18. Off to get married, purely so I can let him shag my wife.
