Think the credit the scout team gets is more to do with finding out that these kind of players would be available and interested in joining due to whatever circumstances and for coming to that conclusion before other clubs do, Cabaye is the ultimate example of this IMO.

He's the head scout isn't he, so I imagine he'll be coordinating the efforts of a fair few other scouts employed by the club, they could be the ones doing the sniffing.
