It’s likely a minor calf injury but it’s a quick turnaround from Tuesday. He would be a big miss on Sunday but a greater miss if they chance it and he ends up missing several weeks. He’s vital to our hopes of staying up. Get him sorted for West Ham.

The only way is if Howe looks at Coutinho and feels matching him with ability is important and plays Bruno. Villa are a good side and will be hard to beat but the opportunity is there to really push on now and the pressure is off a tiny bit after last night. I think you’re probably right that he’ll reward the current midfield but squad rotation and matching Villa tactically might mean he starts. -
Outrageously good player. Standing in the Gallowgate watching that free kick go in, man
-
Extremely worrying development. I’m not actually surprised the injury is worse than first thought but I’m surprised we didn’t bring someone else in because of that risk.

Back bang in the middle of the Gallowgate for this, bring it on. -
They’re direct rivals for Europe, be amazed if they loan or sell him to West Ham
-
Looks like they’re about to address that ?
-
This is the fast, tricky striking option we need!
-
Someone fast too who can run onto through balls from this lad
-
I just think he’ll have a huge impact on the team. He’ll take pressure off the defence and bring that same calmness that Trippier brings.
-
I’m probably sitting at a 5/6. I’ll feel a lot happier if we bring another proper goal scoring threat in though. I’m sure Wood will get a few but we’re still short in that department and Wilson isn’t back for a bit yet.

Yeah I’d love to see him smash a header in. We need to get those quick first balls into him -

Agreed. We need more midfield and goal-scoring power to win games like this and Villa. -

A win here would be huge and properly put them in the shit. Hopefully a rocking St James and a few new signings sees us home. -
? that was my reaction too
-
Given how many times we’ve given away leads in games I think if we upgrade the midfield and defence we’re probably just about ok. Bakke and Burn seem like pretty strong links. I’d feel a lot more confident if we could get another goal scoring option in to finish off teams. Someone like Lingard would be ideal and could see that going through on the final day. I wouldn’t rule out something out of the blue too in terms of a striker
-
Totally agree. Someone calm and collected on the ball and who can pass and break up play will be huge in front of our defence though. We’ve also been shite at keeping the ball. He would help us immeasurably
-
Heard reports saying essentially defensive but can actually create pretty well too so sounds a bit more box to box?
-
Should he sign a player like this takes massive pressure off the defence too.
-
Get Lingard in on the other side to ASM?

Desperate to beat this lot and in the Gallowgate for it -
7, huge win. Other teams will be shitting it now. A few key signings next week and I actually think we might be ok.
