  1. It’ll be interesting to see the effect of having someone properly solid who can hold the ball up and solid in the air for knock ons and bringing others into play running on (ASM, Fraser, Willock etc). It also gives Watford a completely separate issue in terms of defence. They will be shitting it on corners and free kicks. Fwiw looking at his highlights, I’ve seen slower players too. Sure he’s not fast but he doesn’t look like the slowest striker we’ll have ever had.
  2. Yes I think you’ll see a pacey, exciting forward come in this month too. Will be good to have different options.
  3. I no can see the logic in terms of a target man whose good in the air particularly as we’ve signed Trippier. If he comes in as one of two then fine but as the lone option far too risky.
  4. And strikers are usually the hardest of the lot to find and sign
  5. Agreed. His attitude and work rate is excellent but he’s absolutely powder puff in the final 3rd. He’s never going to score goals and he doesn’t look like creating them either.
  6. From Howe’s comments it sounded like he would’ve started
  7. I was feeling pretty confident after Man Utd but the positivity has been splintered after yesterday ffs ?
  8. That’s definitely a blot against him yesterday but our squad is a terrible mix of culture of losing, acceptance of poor standards, and just not good enough. The whole core of the team will need replacing one way or another the next few years. I still like what I see and hear from him but the next few weeks are huge with the games coming up.
  9. I actually think if Gayle is fit covid related he needs to start to provide some shape at least. Imperative we get someone in but it’s criminal we’re in this situation thanks to the previous regime.
  10. Yeah the notion of watching a match where you can just enjoy the football without shitting yourself is alien.
  11. The intensity of Man Utd I agree but the lack of striker worries me. Crowd will be important when it gets nervy.
  12. Yeah I can’t wait, going to be a relaxing nerveless afternoon ? It’ll be solidarity with others in the Gallowgate corner
  13. Yeah I can see a response next weekend and far more intensity to the play but more of the same in the final 3rd with no striker. Throw in the fact we’re hardly watertight at the back and it’s a real worry.
  14. The constant tricks and step overs when there’s the need for an obvious quick ball are very frustrating. I wouldn’t be at all surprised that kore decisive players in his position will replace him if we stay up.
  15. Few managers berate players in public but sure as hell throw a few fvcks into them behind closed doors
  16. I think if we can add some quality additions and cobble together a few wins to build confidence we’ll stay up. Otherwise we’ll go down with a whimper
  17. Agreed and today was a reminder of just how diabolical they can be. I was feeling quite optimistic recently but that’s properly kicked me in the knackered today lol
  18. The performance against Man Utd shows what Howe can do but getting them to perform consistently is the issue.
  19. Yep they really do. Failure to win against Watford though will be hammer blow.
  20. Watford is massive for Howe and the players though that’s stating the obvious
  21. One of the worst performances I’ve seen from a player today (and there were a few others today too)
  22. It’s the perfect situation for him to starting leaching from them. They can dress it up anyway they wish but a leopard doesn’t it’s spots. They might be screwed to some degree but he’s about to start taking their soul.
