  1. Yep looks like he's on the way to Brum on loan.
  2. Premier league physio room has his return date as Feb 26th which would be the Bolton game. If you think he got injured at the very beginning of October that would be 5 months recovery which if the break isn't a complicated one is feasible. Even if that's delayed a couple of weeks and he's back early March you'd still take that.
  3. Surely the fact that we've now signed him on a permanent deal signals that his recovery is going fine and that he's bang on course for a return "fairly" soon? I've seen the end of Feb date, that would do nicely.
  4. Ashley must also know that "surely" that Carroll means bums on seats at St James. Sell him and it will be the final straw for many.
  5. Even for 30m it would be mad to sell Carroll. How much does it cost to find a striker who can potentially score 20 prem goals? And why sign the likes of Ben Arfa if you're then going to then sell Carroll as the potential for carnage on the pitch between the two of them is awesome. It would go completely against Ashley's self professed plan of bringing through youth and building a team around them. I have no doubt Carroll will go at some point if he continues playing like he is but surely he and Newcastle would benefit from atleast a few more years together before he finally moves on. This is Ashley however so logic doesn't count I guess............
  6. A full throttle attack at West Ham and we should do em. They've had some decent results recently but I'd fancy our chances especially as we'll be boyed after this win today. Doesn't seem like Ranger will get a look in as Best came on today. I'd like to see him as he causes defences problems with his size and pace. If there is a problem with attitude and not turning up to training on time then I'm not surprised the manager has an issue with him. It's not that hard is it? The again we don't know all the details.
  7. We got 3 points, that's all I care about. A bit more quality in the final 3rd which we all know we're missing and we would've won this easily. Hopefully with a few additions we'll add that bit of quality. Not sure about some of the comments regarding Taylor, his passing at times was a bit average but his defending was fine as far as I could see. There were others who gave the ball away more. Either way lets move onto the next game and enjoy the 3 points. Some people on here dwell on things far too much.
  8. Eaxactly, its all about the transfer window. There's some right dross around and below us so a little strengthening in key areas will go a long way to keeping us safe. It's all down to Ashley, we've been in this situation before haven't we, speculate to accumulate...............in an ironic twist of fate you'd hope the Carroll injury might actually force Ashley's hand.
  9. Kranjcar would be a great signing if we could get him
  10. is that Zog banned for Sunday then, great news if so?
  11. I was fully expecting a loss against Spurs today irrespective of how the game went. The next two games however are the types of games that could define the season and games against fellow bottom half teams. A couple of bad performances in the next two and the heat will already build on Pardew.
  12. It's not going to be MON is it, he'll want cash to spend and TOTAL CONTROL. It's quite clearly Pardew. I've said it before to my mates down here in London, sadly Newcastle is going nowhere until Ashley leaves whenever that is.
  13. Definitely agree with Ohmelads about giving Ranger a go. I noticed that Ameobi was listed as "doubtful" before the Chelsea game and to me he just didn't look at full speed. I know he can be inconsistent but he just didn't look like he was moving properly. What I've noticed about Ranger is he's got a pretty good combination of size and speed and looks like the type of player who could really give defenders some trouble. Yeah he's raw but the he's just signed a 5 year deal hasn't he so Hughton etc must see something in him. If Ameobi is fully fit though no reason why he shouldn't atleast start again but giving Ranger a good 30 mins second half wouldn't hurt. I'd give Routledge another shot on the wing too, I thought he looked sharp against Chelsea and he seems like a confidence player so we could do with getting him going again for us.
  14. So I saw MOTD and that was only brief highlights but as people have said the timing of the first goal and the way it was conceded killed us. You can't hand a goal like that to a team who basically come and park every bus in front of the goal at such an early point in the match. Whats really disappointing was the way the second goal was conceded though, I mean that game had draw written all over but we handed them the 3 points. The financial importance of staying in the premier league means that you're going to get the anti-football sides like this unfortunately. Just be thankful that "Big Sam" is no longer our manager...........I remember Reading away a few years ago when I went with my brother to the "Mad Stad" and it was one of the most tedious, negative, defensively set up displays I'd ever seen. You knew right there and then that it was never going to work for Big Sham. Water under the bridge, lets move on and focus on Fulham as that'll be a really tough match. I think they're playing really well.
