Everything points to it being down to Wenger in regards to how much they spend so maybe he's happy doing what he's always done for the most part Being in the CL for 15 years in a row is bloody good considering how much money other teams throw around every year though. You saying Wenger has the funds available whenever he wants it but just chooses not to challenge for title and loves a scrap for 4th place, trolling Spurs fans in the process with late surges of form?

Interesting watch, the Speed bit :'( Very good show that, watched it first time round on BBC3. The bit when he was in the park looking back over his past events, heartbreaking that was. Great TV.

This! Classic that Disco.

It's easy for us to say well Arsenal are top 4, everything is fine, we however are shit. However look at it from an Arsenal's fans point of view and they see the whole situation just like ours. A manager who is happy to say what the board want him to say and isn't really bothered if his best players are constantly sold and the money not re-invested to the penny made. I can certainly see why they are fed up of Arsenal just battling Spurs for 4th place when if they went out in a summer and spent big, they could challenge for the title if a couple of positions were upgraded. Instead they are just content on finishing 4th and letting the champions league money roll into there bank account and hope Wenger produces a player to be world class to be sold at a nice profit. They have got a nice stadium though as the owners keep referring too.

Over the xmas/new year period there might look like a lots L's on paper but the performances we were putting in with the team selections we were putting out was actually positive. Young players were getting game time and were showing serious signs of progression but soon as Jonas became fit, Tiote returned from international duty, they were instantly dropped when they shouldn't have been.
-
We might not have won the game but the 4-3 at Old Trafford and we had Marv/Bigi/Anita, they might not have had this kick them up the air attitude and bully the opposition through sheer physicality but by god did they try and give Man Utd a go for pure football ability, we passed the ball well, we created chances, we were holding our own, it was such a shame they came away with nothing for the efforts they had put in that day. Then Marv followed that with a standout performance at the Emirtates where he was threatening them every time he was on the ball
-
It was nothing short of disgusting the way Anita was treated over new year, he struggled early doors not being given the run and was struggling but once Tiote got injured then left for African Nations, Anita came into his own and was showing all the signs of developing into a top player then soon as Tiote came back he was instantly dropped to hardly be seen again for the season. Marv on the other had has been given cameo roles off the bench where he's expected to come and create some magic when our backs are against the wall and confidence is low, makes things 10 times harder to shine. One he was given a boost of confidence and actually picked to start, he was given the job of defending Leighton Baines at Goodison Park, what an awful decision that was, Marv was in for a killing soon as he got on the pitch.

Be as tough as old boots, this is the premier league, toughest league in the world, get stuck in man! Naaaaaaaa not having it, their class can see them ahead of the other two mentioned without having this 'fire'.

For his price the likes of Santi, Mata, Walcott, Hazard etc are better value imo. If he moved to another club somewhere like Arsenal, you'd see his selection in sides rise dramatically. Swansea is the problem, not Michu.

I text my mate (Liverpool Fan) laughing about the loss they've made on Downing/Carroll/Cole and how they are lucky that West Ham have taken them off the wage bill....his reply was 'We are a big club, money isn't an issue'. Is money an issue in football? Do we do things the right way or the wrong way? Suppose when we are looking at others around us like West Ham coughing up silly money will nilly, just like Arsenal fans will be questioning their transfer policy when they see clubs like Spurs/Liverpool forking out the money let alone the likes of Chelsea/City, makes it harder for us to swallow but personally I actually prefer the way us and Arsenal go about things, it seems like the right and logical way to run a football but it can be very frustrating for us supporters.

Yep. Gouffran will get fitter, the part about Marveaux is weapons grade bull s***. He hasn't been given a decent run of games to get match fit and looks far from lazy. And whatever type of player Anita looks, he's a better footballer than Tiote and should have had his place from last Christmas onwards. This

50/50 on the poll. That's probably the odds on this one to be fair

He'd fit right in on this board with that prediction! West Ham top half, Newcastle almost relegated. Sign up here MO.

He's nailed on to replace Gutierrez on Monday. Please don't.

Yeah because Ba refused to play on the wing so we shafted Cisse out wide for a handful of appearances and had nowhere near the same effect. Then we sold Ba, instead of putting Cisse back through the middle, he gave Shola the nod and his excuse after the match was Ba's absence midweek had spoilt the gamelan prepared and Shola was the nearest like for like replacement. Baffling.

Wtf is this peace talks between Pardew camps

But they were the people who never wanted him from day 1, many supporters he won over during that season and very few were calling for him to be sacked. Obviously the tragedy of last season just took people back to their feelings of when he was announced as our manager, which can't really be blamed for doing so giving actually how bad last season was. Then now there’s only a few who actually want him to have another crack at it. He definitely won a lot of fans over but there were still worrying signs there and a lot of people were questioning whether we were in the top 6 because of him or in spite of him. Well majority now saying this season that the players quality on the pitch as individuals is irrelevant as they can't get a manager out of trouble if they are poorly managed so it can't be spite of him. Pardew needs credit for finishing 5 points off being in the champions league regardless of how last season unravelled. I personally think it was a mix of both, don’t think Pardew was some sort of master tactician that got us there but don’t think it solely rested at the players ability. Thought there was a number of contributing factors and all of which I feel can still be brought back to the side next season. Personally I think we finished 5th due to his cautious playing style picking up an inordinate amount of points before Taylor's injury (and other teams sussed us a bit) and our individual players doing enough to win games that we weren't exactly dazzling in, that showed in our goal difference too. We saw the same last season only our defence was rocked from the start through injury and it was really just Ba who turned up for half of the year. So from that you could say it is still plausible to have another good season? If defence is tighter, confidence is built, injures remain fair and Cisse bags his fair share of goals, it is possible that we could have another good season ahead with the quality of players we have and Pardew managing them?

And 15 clean sheets. Actually don't know why I'm posting a serious reply to this. I don't know why you did either...what a waste of a post

When did I say he had to go in that post? Penny has dropped i said a reference to what type of manager he is. How you got the word sack out of it I don't know lol So it took us finishing 5th for you to figure out what type of manager Alan Pardew is? That makes even less sense. Well done. The position we finished at. Has no bearing on how I figured out he was negative manager. All I had to do was watch the games. Not hard is it genius lol Now I get it. You watched us under Pardew for 18 months and finally decided he was negative when we finished 5th. I'm out. Forgive me for giving him a chance , goodbye lol
