  1. Because if he had any self respect for his footballing ability and this football club he would fuck off to some lower division club and take the 40 grand a week pay cut and stop bleeding this club dry. We've give him enough money for his behind the scene team spirit contribution, now he should graciously shake hands with a smile on his face and depart with his millions we have given him. Cheers Smudger!
  2. The club can't know for sure if Marveaux will be a success or a flop, it's a free gamble, the club will still be unsure if HBA will get back to what he was and the club can't say for sure Ferguson will fulfill his potential, in Jonas we know what we are getting and until someone comes along and proves they have the required class for the prem to be in our starting 11 i see no reason to remove Jonas out of the equation. If we had signed Charlie instead of Marveaux i could see why Jonas would be eased out because we know what Charlie brings to the table.
  3. In a 442 I agree, but if its a 433 or 4231, which is how's its looking, he doesnt fit quite fit in in my opinion. If its a case of tactical flexibility then he still serves little purpose as you'd hope that we won't be looking adjust our main formation too often and even when we do, the likes of marveuax/ben arfa and Ferguson will all look to do a job that Jonas does. There is no discernible quality other than perhaps work rate that Jonas has over those mentioned players. Unfortunately. Are you seriously putting Ferguson ahead of Jonas...what does Ferguson bring to the table that Jonas doesn't apart from a young age? No, I'm not. I'm saying that he is one of 3 players who can play in Jonas' position. If we already have 3 players who can provisionally play in a role that is increasingly looking like a redundant one then why keep him on those merits alone, Nevermind wage issues. For what its worth I didn't offer my opinion on Ferguson but from what Ive see, I think he has the potential to be as good if not better than Jonas. So Jonas should be moved on the basis of, we have signed Marveaux (a player few of us have seen and has a record of injuries), we have HBA (fantastic reputation around Europe but recovering from a broken leg and not sure how things have turned out) and also Ferguson (handful of hit and miss performances towards the end of the season). These 3 players attribute to why Jonas needs moved on and removed from our first 11...i'm not seeing the logic here...
  4. If i was a Liverpool fan and watched the under 21 championships...i'd be a very worried man having watched a new 20 million signing not even compete in the centre midfield at that sort of level then be replaced in a must win game after 60 minutes! The new Steven Gerrard... The half time analysis against the Czech was f***ing amazing They showed him recieving the ball out of defence and laying it off simply to a more advanced player twice, then showed him attempt a more impressive pass, only for it to be nowhere near a single England player. Just summed up the hilarity of this £20m pricetag. Yeah that was all comedy gold!
  5. To be fair tho if you grabbed Huddlestone for around 10m and sold Henderson for 20, your still sitting with a smile on your face...mackem cunts! They won't be getting Wickham unless they offer double figures aswell!

  8. Yeah same goes for HBA, that left midfield postion is going to be a hard place to cement down with what we have at the moment and what is specualted to be coming in, obviously then the chances are they can play right wing but Barton also had a very solid season there and if indeed he does still have a future at the club which he claims although it is doubtful, it isn't a position you can just walk into. Competition for places is what we need, no good just buying players then selling players in there position as we would just end up pretty much the same as last year with a possibility of a slightly stronger 11 (buy Cabaye sell Nolan, Buy Ba sell Best, Buy Marveaux sell Jonas, Buy Taylor Sell Enrique, Buy Barnetta/Charlie sell Barton.
  9. I love Jonas and hope he stays, i can't see why people would think Marveaux deserves to come in and just drop Jonas to the bench, we have hardly seen him play yet. Surely the signings we make need to come in and actually force themselves onto the first team sheet if there is good competition for that position?
  10. Surely Leeds aren't thick enough to do that? What next? Viduka, Kewell?! What the hell they can join the french revolution like us and get olivier dacourt back in! This is just a brilliant masterplan...Leeds Leeds Leeds Leeds Leeds!
  11. No thanks, apparently he's had contact from Arsenal and Chelsea. Think he's too far up his own arse. £10m?! Er.........no It's a very big price considering he hasn't shown that sort of ability in the prem but i suppose he hasn't been giving a big chance too either... Everyone loves a gamble though...

  13. So are we completely ruling out Jose signing a 5 year extension then? Just for the record....
  14. He's too inefficient. Often his runs ends up in nothing: eg he has to backtrack or he hits a crosser that's no good. . He's had a couple of good crossers that our attackers should have converted but overall he's never involved in our goals.. If you bother you can check his assist ratio, I think it's very low. Do you watch our games, or just look at the stats? I do watch the games, although he's fantastic in defense, but the choices he sometimes makes in attack irritates me.. During his three season in PL, Enrique stands with 5 assists. That is not much. Come on man, you can't possibly be saying that Enrique has only been involved in 5 goals since he's been with us? Let me guess, you're looking at the amount of 'assists' he's got for us on ESPN Soccernet? Don't even know why we are trying to question this clown...plain for everyone one to see week in week out, our main attacking force being our left hand side through Enrique and Jonas...get the stats out for both of them and they might not add up to much stat wise through goals and assists but it's a fact our best attacking play comes down the left without fail.
  15. This whole interview malarky with Ireland has everything of a man with problems...
  16. There's only Cole and Evra i'd place above Enrique in the Prem at the moment. Yet i still wouldn't swap him for anyone even if it was possible. I wouldn't hold it against him if he did move to a bigger club, i would be very dissapointed and angry if he just side stepped to another team such as Aston Villa though. I'm still all for putting a cap on wages though and restricting massive wages being dished out, i think highest earner should be on no more the 70k a week tops.
  17. he's had a clip round the ear and a playful ruffle of his boyish locks from uncle niall, who is always looking out for the loyal sunderland fans, whether they be rioting in trains stations, preventing flights from taking off or invading the pitch. just as long as they're not watching the match on foreign telly in pubs.
  18. Well, half of what we got paid for Touré. He just isn't good enough on the ball and picks up way too many cards in La Liga. Admittedly would have been a good sub yesterday though. Surely Pep knew he wasn't signing a footballer though and more of a workaholic who loves a tackle to break up play.
  19. What about just last Sunday against Blackburn? He was Man of the Match by a million millions and produced one of the best Left Back displays we've seen in a Black and White shirt...was this Enrique looking unhappy? half hearted?
