  1. Reef, you have a habit of saying the worst but then overtime it doesn't work out as bad as you've made out. It doesn't sound much 3 losses and then we are there but you struggle to see the teams below us picking up them wins either because the league is so bad. I mean we destroyed West Ham then they win a couple of matches and shoot half way up the table. They'll soon get destroyed again by someone and take their slump. We are having our major slump but we will get out of it, i'm sure of that.
  2. Coming from the bloke who predicted a relegation battle in the summer and how we will be lucky to scrape to safety again Yeah because we were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo convincing last season. Oh wait all those signings we added in the summer! But the person who is apparently is thick as two short planks along with a few others predicted a comfortable top 10 finish. My original prediction was 8th and i'm still happy to stick with that. Southampton are in good form but like every team their poor run will come back along sooner or later and we can still capitalize on that. Don't think it was particularly that hard to look at last season, weigh it up sensibly and come out with the conclusion we aren't a relegation battling side and it may have been a one off. Many just looked at the negatives, thought about the 'excuses' but eventually brushed them off and thought with Pardew, we are doomed to near relegation once again. Hasn’t turned out that way and there was talk of top 6/4 with a good xmas period. Instead we f***ed our chances and are sadly cashing in on mid table mediocrity. We’ve steadied the ship from last season and avoided any relegation talk which is about only positive to take from this season. Hopefully we can kick on over the summer but that’s down to Ashley to do so. It's not comfortable at all though you numpty bollocks. We are in freefall or haven't you noticed? We sealed top 10 about two month ago. Looking at them teams below us we would really have to f*** things up to blow that. I mean i know results lately have been woeful but i can't see that lasting rest of the season. Colo/Tiote/Remy are three massive players to have back in our side and will get some sort of spine back in the side.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

If he was as sharp as before his current fatness period, that ball would still be on his feet. Maybe so, but he's not going to get match fit with half an hour cameo roles here and there. Needs a good run in the side regardless if he can't be arsed with defending.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

For example...when he picked the ball up last night 20/25 yards out, ran towards a man, skipped past him like he wasn't there then just over ran the ball slightly and went out of play for goal kick, had people standing up hurling abuse and the moans and groans. At least he was actually trying to make something happen.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Give over, was a f***ing s**** pass, Ben Arfa was behind him just waiting for the ball and Cisse passed it out of play. No way is Ben Arfa being blamed for not moving there. I agree he's not fit or looking sharp but he's only going to get that by playing matches. He did well when he came on but once he realised there wasn't going to be a comeback, he wasn't bothered. He was coming to a DM position just to pick up the ball, least he actually wanted it. Not that he should be coming that deep, like. He was behind him waiting for the ball instead of moving along the right side line. The play was there and not behind Cisse. If hatem wanted the ball where Cisse put it, he would have pointed to the space, Hatem likes ball to his feet and that's where the pass should have gone. Playing it and then saying to Ben Arfa, well that's where you should be is just idiotic on Cisse's behalf. I wouldn't get all bitchy over one pass. That IS an over-reaction. Not as if it had any bearing on the game. Just brought up my emotion from last night arguing with fan near me who kicked off at Ben Arfa for being lazy and shit when Cisse's pass was shocking. More reason to hate our cunty home crowd for the way they chant Ben Arfa's name (they didn't chant his name last night, like) then when he comes on they moan and groan the loudest when he loses the ball or tries to much. Just let hatem do what he wants, he's a class act who should be able to play the football in the manner he sees fit.
  8. Well you lot do the Pardew criticism, no point having another one making the same points. Forum would be pointless if we just all banged on about the exact same thing. Pardew was massively at fault last night, we got beat 4-0 and we were tactically inept and outclassed by a Spurs side who weren't full strength or at their best. Doesn't just stop at the maangers door though, there's plenty of blame to be placed elsewhere too. You laughed at Wullie for him expecting it to be a rough evening. You thought his realism was funny. Nobody fancied last night, but it's not always that plain sailing. Wullie said he would come on and slag Pardew off in every game regardless of result after Swansea, we beat Man Utd away and he comes on happy as larry with the praise. I felt how i did last night before Chelsea, one game we win 2-0 and the other we got humped 4-0. Part of the emotion of football, highs and lows.

  12. This. I was genuinley shocked first time it came down to MYM or Taylor and he opted Taylor. Given his comments you mentioned and how well Willo/Mym played during that spell, it's baffling to see why Taylor was brought back in. If there's anything i'd want Pardew out for, this reason would be high on my list. Mym did himself no favours at Chelsea but he could have had a stormer game and still found himself bench warming.
  13. But they were groaning in the first half when we were playing the ball to Anita, who would get closed down, back to Taylor who would pass to Williamson then Williamson would look up, see a Spurs player, crowd go mental, Williamson then just plays safe and goes back to Krul instead of forgetting about the crowd and just look for next pass to outfield player. Teams who pass it out are going to be closed down, be you just stay calm and collected and look for your team mate. We end up panicking and just going back to Krul and until we calm ourselves down, we are always going to be watching long ball after long ball. We manage to pass the ball well from the back away from home but there's no patience for it at home imo. The fans at the ground have traditionally wanted fast attacking football, but that doesn't mean they want to see the ball humped long. Yes there is a section that gets nervous when a player passes backwards, but that's because they don't see enough movement of players going forwards. There weren't many groans when SBR and Keegan had us passing it about were there? It's Taylor/Williamson though, we've hardly got two centre backs who are 'footballers' so to speak. It's not going to be pretty but they are still capable of getting the ball and passing it to the full back or someone who comes short, there's no harm in Anita picking it up then going back over and starting the move again. Was like when Toure for Liverpool gifted West Brom that goal other week. Rodgers just brushed it off and said it's not Toure's fault, i instruct him to pass it out, he may not be comfortable as most with it but it's the way we play and i want him to keep playing the ball out. That's the attitude it should be like. So what if a pass is misplaced or a player looks slow when passing it out, least he's looking to keep possession and not intending to be aimless and wasteful.

  15. Visible protest gets the media on the bandwagon, and it hopefully snowballs from there. Even a simple thing like fans not leaving the concourse til 5 mins in next week so Sky show a completely empty bowl would be massively ignored(not that ot would make Ashley quit like but would show fans are fighting together). Sadly for every active fan wanting to at least show some form of protest theres 10 happy to sit on their hands and continue to 'support the team' as anything involving effort isnt for them. Team would probably play better with the walk out tbh without the 40,000 idiots screaming at there every move. They seem to manage well enough in front of the few thousand actually supporting them away from home. Staggering post. What we need is 50,000 Brett's in the ground to win the league. Absolute numpty. Our away fans are fantastic. Probably the best in the league imo. Our home fans on the other hand.. so much

They seem to manage well enough in front of the few thousand actually supporting them away from home. You talk some utter s****, but this tops it. St James' Park was a morgue last night so they probably didn't hear a thing on the pitch. You can't tell me you can't hear the moans and groans around the whole stadium at any given opportunity. I think Taylor went for a long ball at one point and Adebayor closed it down and it bounced back to Krul and people were going mental. There was situations like that throughout the game which were nothing basically and the crowd were getting on their backs. If Anita dwelled on it, or if Sammy didn't pass, or if Sissoko misplaced a pass or someone didn't dive into a tackle... 'Get into them, fuck them up' such a cringeworthy chant.
  17. There was nothing and thats the worst part of all this, people will just vote with their feet from now on and not even turn up, Pashley has sucked the life out of the club. Basically, atmosphere was awful. Few general chants for Newcastle but not one single chant for a player...not one. There was no hatred chants either, just constant moans and groans around the ground at any given opportunity, be it a player tackled, mis placed pass, closed down etc. Even when Sammy beat a couple of men crowd were screaming because he wasn't passing it, not that he had anyone to pass it too, like.

  19. Yeah, he got 9 out of 11 players right, so not too bad. It's difficult to see where Pardew's responsibility begins at times with some people, even getting 9 out of the starting 11 right with limited available options is "good". Based on opinion. I was expecting a much worse side, didn't think Debuchy/Gouff/Cisse would be in the line up so was a boost to see their names. When i seen both line ups, silly me thought it was Sherwood who had fucked up as i would have made 3/4 changes to his side. Can't tell me when the line up came out you expected that sort of showing?

We coped with Colo's abscence fine last time with Williamson/MYM, so much so that Pardew said he struggled to drop MYM when Colo was fit. f***ing beyond me why this time around he chose to play your mate over him. He's even brought Williamson's shitness back, nevermind his own. If I was going to side with Pardew out, one of the main reasons would be because he continues to play this c***. He may have stopped his fist pumps for now but he still provided another tragic performance. This is Cisse thread.

  22. Agreed, honestly i'd drop him. Keepers go through these patches when they think they can't be dropped and their form dips. Man City knew that Panto keeper wasn't better than Hart but playing him would give Hart a chance to reflect on his recent shitness and work on it. Hart is now back in the side and looking far better for it. Give Alnwick a run and see how he goes. Season is over and be good for him to get some experience.

I think Colo is our biggest loss, we lack leadership. These heavy defeats and derby defeats always seem to come about when he's not in the side. Not saying we haven't been hammered when he's been in a side but he's a huge loss at the back. To think some people on this board slag him to the hilt is incredible. I'm just saying i think De Jong/Cisse can be a good partnership, that should stick. We've yet to balance the midfield without Cabaye and we look lost in defence without Colo. Saying this if MYM/Williamson played, it would be a different story. No coincidence that Ronaldo's mate Stevie T has come back in the defence and we've been a laughing stock since.
  24. What was the score at this point? 1-0 possibly, was fairly early on anyways. Damn f***ing fans, what a total bunch of b******s we are. Might have even been 0-0, not entirely sure. Was just early on and we are screaming for players to hoof it. Just don't understand it. You're never going to be able to have a side who passes the ball out if the crowd get agitated seeing them being closed down and start screaming at them to clear their lines. It wouldn't even bother me if Taylor/Williamson/Anita got the ball nicked off them or one of them misplaced a pass and Spurs went and scored as at least they are trying to play it out.
