  2. I still like Lambert, even though he's hardly pulling up any trees at Villa. Not even sure why i rate him tbh, hardly plays thrilling football and he offers zilch entertainment in interviews.
  3. Rob Lee has raised a good point about players looking at us selling and not buying and the impact it will have on our squad this summer. He's right, what chance of us keeping Remy now? Assuming we ever had the intention that is. As I said in the Pardew thread, our case isn't helped by how little the management and coaching do for most of the players we sign. I suppose some people might still be subscribing to the idea the players aren't very good like, I prefer the sane option. Even with a top manager i couldn't see us breaking top 6. I'd expect us to have a higher points tally, maybe somewhere around Everton's and challenge them a lot more but couldn't see us breaking the top 6 until Ashley really invests in the club. Pardew has us in the league roughly were the calibre of the players should be. He just makes it a massive struggle to get in this position when really we should be a comfortable top 8, not looking down to see how many points 10th place are on. Main problem is Ashley not willing to compete with the clubs higher than us in the transfer market and that makes the job even more difficult than it already is for any manager to break the top 6.
  4. I just thought the likes of Abeid, Almaliftano, Haidara etc were signed and then nothing expected of them. Pop them in the reserves and see how they get on, if they are good enough, they'll step into first team. Don't think they were talked up to be replacing anybody.
  5. Neil rubbing it in as Bale notched over the weekend
  6. Away to Chelsea Majority of DM's in the league probably don't look very good at Stamford Bridge the way Chelsea overrun your midfield. It's not exactly polemic to suggest he's not CM!!!!! He just didn't offer any protection at all. I don't think we'd have won if Gosling had played instead. But by the same token. Why not play Marveaux if you're convinced we're going to lose? At least SM gets 90 minutes to get some fitness in. Might even discover a bit of desire and apply himself.. Just find it strange that you'd only give him one chance away to Chelsea to shine and because he didn't, say it's failed. I think he was alright like considering it was his first game there for us and against the calibre of players up against him. Defensively poor again like he is at left back but he was good on the ball and helped us build attacks. If nobody was back fit again for Wed, I’d have no problems with Santon having another stint in the middle. I'd personally prefer Marv to be given a chance but it's not looking likely, would have done himself a favour if he hadn't of missed the great chance at the end.

  8. Or Colo fit asap, then he'll be dropped. I don't doubt the dressing room is strong but there's no need to come out with this sort of s***. Don't know wft you're on about. I'm being genuine. Pardew needs players he feels are behind him. Players on whom he can trust their reaction. Also, based on form, MYM seems more likely to drop a b*ll*ck than Taylor. I didn't mean you, i meant Taylor's quotes in the paper.

  10. Hope he read through all those AskTayls questions yesterday just to realise he's not this geordie hero he likes to think he is. Loves getting himself in the paper, wouldn't surprise if me cuts each article out and frames it.
  11. Well Pardew has mentioned to the effect we need a big dominant CB, which we are desperate for but we got Colo's replacement in first. It's always going to cause some sort of confusion when the manager isn't in full control of transfers but i don't think Pardew will be moaning about the type of players coming in. I'm afraid i disagree there. If he had full control of transfers i don't think he would choose to buy MYM, Anita, HBA, Marveaux or Cisse. I'm not saying he would buy those players. I just don't think he's twisting his face and causing a fuss when those players are signed though. From what he says him and Carr seem to have a good working relationship and they talk things through together. It's just always makes things slightly awkward when a manager doesn't have full control of transfers and players maybe bought which the manager wouldn't buy himself. AVB had that problem at Spurs, standard of players wasn't in question but when they aren't your signings it can make things more difficult. It seems you think if he did complain it would be unjustified. Twisting his face and causing a fuss. Tbh, i don't think many managers would want someone buying players for them that they wouldn't pick themselves. We have done this too often (when we've bothered to buy anyone at all). It's got to be in excess for £20m for MYM, Anita and Cisse. I'm sure Pardew could have thought of a different way to spend that. No i think it's good that Pardew has no problem with how the transfer system works at the club and just gets on with it. Many clubs around the world have a similar way of dealing with transfers and it's good that there's no tension between Pardew and Carr. If Pardew was twisting his face and making soundbytes that suggest he's unhappy with the players being signed then you'll have a real problem. As is stands majority of the signings have came in and done very well. Some have started brightly and faded, others have struggled then come on to shine.

  14. At least I agree with you on this one, don't have the confidence I did for Man Utd. Although I can never be confident of Jose c***ing anyone, but if it's going to be someone, it will probably be us. Manyoo things were cooking nicely for pards Although he was just rolling off the back of a 3-0 defeat

  16. Sure West Ham used up all Chelsea's unluckiness, feel for us today. Especially when Chelsea looked so fucking good last week away to City. One of these games where it's best not to luck too much into, pray for the best and move on to Spurs and see what we can really show there. Today will be no indication of how we cope without Cabaye, what style of play we will be playing without him or how our season will be panning out here on in. Just hope to see some pride and willingness today after last weeks horror show and see if we can get that team spirit back that shone through in the first half of the season.
  17. We're talking about a guy that said Shola is better than Trezeguet and Ashton is better than Torres. I usually only read HTT when his posts are a page long with a million billion paragraphs then it's usually an interesting read. Anything less and he's out for a giggle.
  18. Just take your bait home HTT and admit you fancied a fishing session. Sell Messi...
  19. Mental this, like. Actually irritated me reading that. Honestly thought we had a potential gem on our hands when we signed him. His attitude has always seemed first class as well.
  20. I'm up for this, let me know when details start getting passed around when money needs to be paid and who to etc...
  21. Mr Realistic arrives to wake everyone up to tell us it's never going to happen so it's a pointless debate.
