  1. I've retired from this thread but i can clarify that this account has nothing to do with me.... However now that you've mentioned it, i think i best get following
  2. The last time he was coming back from injury and looking likely to be thrown straight in, he was mainly being written off and Shane Long was going to tear him apart. Now the feeling seems to be we are desperate for him to be back in the team He's still my first name on the teamsheet for me. Oozes class and the back four seems to get confidence from just having him there. We may have suffered heavy defeats with him in the side but we haven't went on long periods of them like we do when he's missing.

    Ronaldo

Can't beleive he's still being tarnished with this brush. Mental Cos it's true bretty boy! He scored in 7 straight Clasicos, scored a ton against Atletico, has scored in the CL final and semi final. The guy is a big game player, it's clear. When he was younger, he would shy away from the occasion but these days, he shows up when it matters, undoubtedly. His record for Portugal also supports this. Basically what Pip says. Only have to look back a few months ago where he carried his nation to the WC with a superb performance against Sweden. Fair enough you could argue he had the better team but it was still a huge tie in which he was expected to step up and he didn't disappoint, he was fantastic.

  5. Nobody did. Clueless. I'd rather have Rooney in my team. End of.
  6. You just get better I can't even bring myself to get in a debate with someone who feels Rooney is better than Ibra I'd even add Diego Costa to that list of players i'd take over Rooney.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Can't like him that much, tried to flog him to Palace then knocked him out on loan. Hardly a sign of a manager who really likes a player.
  8. How many years till we have a manager from here who is as talented and as passionate as Sir Bobby at our football club? Was thinking about this over tonight and still my biggest regret in football is wanting him to be sacked. Actually ashamed of myself for it. Seemed right at the time but looking back, even though I felt once season had begun he deserved chance to improve it, he was gone...forever So, will we ever see the likes again? That's the daft question...
  9. Well on the pitch it's been fairly poor from what i've seen in a black and white shirt. Doesn't mean to say i don't like him, think it's more his style of play to be that way.
  10. I seen him once in a reserve match and he was s**** there as well, like. Would help his cause if he stood out head and shoulders in that league but it was just half arsed. Suppose that mixes in with his general attitude though. Even Jonas looked a class above in the reserves when i seen him before he left
  11. Don't call me out I have a lot of affection for Marv, i'm one of those posters where 'he gets better everytime he doesn't play' If we are picking on usernames though...SANTOoN... Just wait till a few years down the line and somebody is laughing at you
  12. I kna He was a massive factor for us staying up last season and he and Cisse won us a few vital points. He also was by far our best player on the pitch when on form. He's not a great footballer by any means, he has far too many negatives to his game for that, but he can bring something that we sorely lack. Colo came back from injury just at the right time and really give us some confidence at the back after some heavy defeats. I thought he was vital in the survival.
  13. I would build the defence around Mapou, love the lad. Top draw. Think he'll come into his own next season.
  14. Who has he fell out with then? I've named a few i can think of. Obviously every manager will have disagreements with players but don't think Pardew has a reputation here for arguing with players. He's kept majority of players in check and hasn't resorted to this kind of thing often, so i'm sure the decision wasn't taken lightly. That West Ham article in the Daily Mail that have been mentioned before is pretty telling. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-421908/Pardew-lost-dressing-room.html So many similarities in that article compared to today, it's scary. When you call on the daily fail to back you up, you know you're scrapping that bottom of the barrell. Diouf...that muscular striker Harry Redknapp is known for his man management but you could look back through his clubs for bust ups after he dropped Boswinga from QPR then claim he's done this before and has history for it?
  15. Guillit was a dick so you could assume he was driving people out to boost his ego. I was sticking up for Adebayor during AVB's reign at Spurs. Certain managers you feel deliberatly go into a club and target a particular player. Why would Pardew wait all this time before deciding to put Marv in the youth, he's had had far worse starting and cameo performances than Spurs but hasn't been put in the youth side. He hasn't had the chance to have a go at him, he hasn't picked him all season up until now. He started the first two home games of the season and was s**** 6 months ago ffs. We played Man City away and by our gutless manager own admission basically gave to game up. But is suppose you're not sticking up for Pardew again though. I was dissapointed in Marv myself let alone Pardew. West Ham/Fulham after steering clear of injury over the summer should have been perfect for him but he was poor and failed to shine. I remember Sammy coming on and doing more in his cameo role than Marv had all game. Who is to blame for that? And tbh without sounding all itk, i was at a family meal after Man City i think it was and Jonas was there who was saying Marv had come back like a new player over the summer and had been excellent in training. So he clearly had been showing signs and Pardew gave him his opportunity. What happened after that is anyone's guess but two home games against poor opposition and showed nothing. Yet saying this, Ben Arfa was like a one man team in both of those games and that still hasn't done him too many favours.

  18. As i've said before.....accepted the decision and just forget about it till more info on the reasons behind it are given. Like that classroom analogy, if you think the teacher is a cunt, that doesn’t mean to say your mate is innocent. You just have to accept punishment has been made for him and walk away till you here from someone else what actually happened then determine if the teacher was right or not. If he was right, the teacher is still a cunt but you know your mates been a bellend.
  19. f***ing hell, you could say this about any manager of any club When big bust ups come about or players end up in reserves, word usually gets out in the press. Pardew hasn't had many cases of this or no more than what other managers do. Sure nobody kicked up this storm when Pochettino binned his star signing, there was no question of poor man management then. I just don’t see how people say Pardew has a reputation for falling out with players here when I can’t think of anything major. Him and Colo had one but resolved it all fairly quickly. Word did get out in the press and you said: What's your point? I've said i'm not taking Pardew's side or Marv's side here because i don't know the ins and outs. From what has been mentioned in the press Pardew has seemed fair with the players off the pitch. He's give them extended time off, he's let them travel home, he gave Ranger umpteen chances to improve. Marv's been here a while now and this is the first time it's been reported he's done this kind of thing to him. What the exact reasons are i don't know but i'm willing to accept it, not kick up a fuss regarding it and wait till more info on the matter is given rather than jumping to defend Marv and slag off Pardew or vise versa.

Even when Anita/HBA/MYM are bench warming, they aren't in the press calling him, only Taylor really did that. He gives them a lot of free time to see family if they are injured or have requested, which many on here even criticise him for. So he's too soft on that subject for some and now being too hard on this situation. I just think generally, he's kept good spirit within the squad.

  23. When i informed him a few weeks ago, his text replied 'Wonder if there's any brothers like you in Spain who gave a birthday present to go to the Sociedad Copa Del Rey match...you're a cunt' Fair reply
  24. I'm still at loss to why he got the gig to track back Baines away at Everton, then was hauled off at half time. Put our least defensive midfielder the task to mark the league's best attacking full back, then be angry with the performance
