Kovacic is such a good player, him and Rodri et al, eurgh, can’t face watching us struggle to hold onto the ball. Howay lads, come out firing, let’s see some high energy, quick press football

Does feel like Samwell Tarly taking Jaime Lannister on, trial by combat
-
Anderson to score, off the bench
-
Their team is pretty much full strength accounting for injuries, total joke

This is it like, you watch sport to be surprised, to have hopes or dreams of where your team are going. Take all that away and it’s boring as fuck
-
As if Chelsea deserve anything, they should be locked in a football dungeon for doing more to ruin football than anyone else, whilst doing it with corrupt money only
-
Looks like they’re leaving this mortal plane

If this was any other match than us against Man City away or us against Liverpool away I’d be getting really excited right now

It feels like football is finally eating itself via the only thing that causes self-cannibalism, capitalism. Strangely though, it’s a form of capitalism that’s somehow managed to attack itself. These few clubs at the very top are so incredibly greedy that they have found a way of stopping capitalism for others and only allowing it for themselves through a constant series of rule changes that are strangling the life out of football. It’s fucking mental and there’s no doubt that football will lose its audience, and all the money propping it up if it becomes truly anti-competitive. Nationally, it’ll lose popularity very quickly. Internationally, it’ll be slower but it will die off if it’s just the same teams playing the same teams again and again and again. These next couple of years are pivotal, if it keeps going the way it’s going it’s going to lose a ton of fans. The implementation of VAR, the corporatisation of football, the cost of going to matches all are killing football for many older fans

Pardew absolutely did pretend to be something he wasn’t, that was his modus operandi. He was a complete snake constantly making up excuses for his own failings. With the right manager we’d have been a consistent top 8 team with those players season on season yet he spent his entire time trying to sell them in the press and go on about how we couldn’t compete with anyone. He called himself “the king” for fuck’s sake. He’s one of the most arrogant people in football when you compare it to his ability. Total charlatan who had precisely zero ability as a manager because all he cared about was himself. Should have been in politics -

Genuinely can’t get my head round how people stayed engaged during the Bruce years. I was helped by having a baby during that time so it made it easier to check out -
I always think Rashford’s going to miss but I think the same about anyone who does the next-level stutter approach technique. Those top four are very dependable, I know Saka missed crucially in a previous tournament but he was a kid then and anyway, one miss doesn’t mean you’re a bad penalty taker. Of that second group I’d probably go Maddison over the others. Could see Declan skying one although his pen the other day was class. Doesn’t Walker sometimes get a pen in shootouts? Trent would surely be a good penalty taker

He does fit Man City incredibly well. Not going to worry about it, whatever happens we and he will be fine and I’ll always like him

Glad I left, it’s annoying not being able to read tweets that have some value but overall it’s been a net gain leaving that shithole

He’s among the most pathetic creatures I’ve ever had knowledge of. I used to hate Pardew more and I still find Pardew more unbearable in his arrogance but I think Bruce might well be a worse human being. He’s absolute scum dressed up as a Werthers Original -
The only issue with that front six remains how to create the most opportunities for Isak. Bruno is excellent at sliding balls in, Willock can make a killer pass. Tonali, he should be able to but we haven’t seen it yet. Gordon’s not really known for being an elite passer / assister although I think we’ll see more and more of that from his game. Joelinton isn’t going to put too many quality balls through to Isak. If Tonali can come in and add some extra creativity then that six is outstanding. There’s still a RW to come as well

Can’t argue about being tied to an awful regime. Really don’t know what more they could have done working within the restrictions they’re working though
-
As much as I can’t stand Liverpool and a significant number of their players, I do really like Luis Diaz, Mo Salah and Virgil Van Dijk. Wonder if I’ll hate them less after the dickhead leaves
-
Also, putting Janmaat and Sissoko in with Owen and Duff seems harsh on the first two
-
Looking forward to seeing the interview, does it cover some of the barriers to him while playing?
-
Definitely a case of the arrogance of youth and financial success being present for his whole playing career really. Have warmed to him more post-career although I don’t see a lot of him
-
I love a bit of “serious questions need raising”
-
Great to hear he’s doing alright after the transplant. I find it hard to place how I feel about Dyer from his playing days but I obviously wish him well

Glad someone had the confidence to say what we were all thinking
