He's in excellent form and has been since the tail end of last season. Would be crazy to drop him for Ramsdale purely due to weaker distribution (which is partially mitigated by the way we play in any case, IMO)

Ropey at times, won't be replacing Schar as first choice anytime soon. Early days though and you can also see the potential and the qualities which we will be looking to build on.

Really think the lesson would be that we should have intervened to prevent him playing anything more than very limited minutes on international duty after no preseason. Hard to think that didn't greatly increase his susceptibility to injury. How feasible it actually is for clubs to do that I don't know.

That's fine, I'm not saying attacking Botman on social media is in any way productive, it would be pretty dumb to say the least. But people will be judged by the company they keep and what they show support for.

Isak has revealed himself to be a treacherous cunt - acting with a level of disrespect towards the club, fanbase and his own teammates that rightly has him held in contempt by the overwhelming majority. I'm not going to be so naive or idealistic as to think that players who were closer to him will decide to give him the cold shoulder forever or sever all ties, but at the same time it is normal that it won't sit right with some and may skew perceptions of those players by association, to some extent.

I think liking the post feels relatively unambiguous - it's a show of support for Isak. Doesn't necessarily mean support for all of the actions taken this summer but it is a show of support nonetheless. If that doesn't sit right with people that is understandable IMO. There's a reason the vast majority of the players have not done so.

I do believe he was phoning it in at the end of the season, and that the recurrent "injury issues" were presumably self-reported by Isak himself. I remember multiple people on here commenting that he wasn't even celebrating goals from his teammates as we were chasing CL. Those shots at the end of the compilation video also speak for themselves, especially combined with the knowledge of everything that has come since. He's a total cunt, off the top of my head I can't think of a player betraying their team and their club in the way that he has. In a way, letting the truth of the above settle makes me feel better about the sale - he represents a level of toxicity and betrayal that we are better off without. Perhaps the club concluded the very same.

Starting to wonder if the club has stopped doing them. There was nothing for Ramsey either. Shame if so.

Too good to turn down, really. I reckon with the right coaching and conditions he'll go on to be a good player, maybe even a very good one, in time. I think there is probably a recognition from the club that we just can't provide the minutes to facilitate that.
