Think Bournemouth will be the surprise package in the league this year.
-
Aye, would be easier to take if we could get nearer that figure. Not sure we would though.

Putting aside the debate about whether to keep or sell, what kind of fee would everyone be happy to receive for ASM were we to sell? Given some of the fees outgoing players from European leagues have been able to generate so far, I'd be disappointed if it's any less than £40m personally.

Think it's more a question of a) What's the most effective route to becoming a team that wins trophies and b) What will represent the most significant outcome in terms of the speed of progression of the club A bit like the debate between winning the league cup or CL football last season.

Think he's right tbh

Mings is a bit like Lascelles in that his quality doesn't really show unless situated within an effective tactical structure and defensive shape.

"Throw enough shit against the wall and some of it will stick" is Talbot's approach imo. Far more wrong than right from what I've seen. Same strategy as Football Insider, which people will sometimes defend along similar lines.
-
Hopefully Dubravka stays as number 2, more than happy to keep Karius though.

Could be an unpopular opinion at this point but I think I prefer Joelinton on the left rather than as part of a central three. He has that side of the pitch completely locked down and I think there's more to come from him offensively, too. Not to mention his excellent understanding with Willock.

Not sure that it can be argued that Barnes is a bad signing, but he has some real limitations to his game. Very much suits counter-attacking football, I don't see him providing the extra bit of craft that we were lacking against low blocks.
-
Too much of an unknown in terms of how badly a serious injury (and injuries overall?) have affected him and whether he will be able to fulfil the early promise. I have a similar feeling about Chiesa to be honest

Our South America strategy has been well and truly pissed upon, like

John Percy is Tier 1 for anything Midlands related, haven't seen enough of his nationwide coverage to judge that (could be a new thing for him?) but will be interesting to see if Livramento does come off after all
-
(Seriously though, agree with those who feel we can do better - he's best suited to counter-attacking football from what I've seen and has some real limitations)
-
No thanks to yanks Would steer clear of anybody called Barnes too, got to be ruthless to make it to the top
-
Talbot is a bullshitter, I think we've seen more than enough from him to assert that at this point.
-
Good player for sure but I think some Wolves fans have felt on occasion they have been at a detriment due to his lack of mobility. It's a weaker squad without him but not sure it's a hammerblow, Lopetegui certainly has them functioning a lot better as a collective than they had been for some time
-
Collins, Kilman and even Neves are replaceable for them tbh

Gordon came out after a recent U21 game with England and said he feels he may actually be best as a number nine. There's different ways of reading that statement, and of reading too much into it too, but to me it isn't especially encouraging.
-
Suspect he'll be well worth it, hope not though.

You could well be right, I think we'll see more of Bruno in forward positions than we did last season. Have thought the same re: RW, the thought of a more traditional winger doesn't feel like so much of an evolution for us stylistically which is why it doesn't appeal to me quite so much, even thought I could easily imagine a player making that position their own and having a big impact. Happy to wait and see how the window unfolds however before rushing to judgement It's telling perhaps that Liverpool have gone with DS even though a midfielder in that mould hasn't been a part of Klopp's tactical system in recent years
