There will be quite a few showing as unavailable that have actually been cancelled. I'd hope that those seats will vastly outweigh the morons who have been stupid enough to get one on general sale. 2 of our 4 showing unavailable. Only mine is showing as available. Other one was renewed!!!

If the 23k figure for season tickets is correct, and I've no reason to doubt it is, the crowd will be around 30k I would have thought. Can't see them selling more season tickets on the back of appointing Steve Bruce as Rafa Benitez replacement, if anything there'll be more cancellations than season tickets sold from here on in, then add on 3k Arsenal fans and a couple of thousand idiots buying on general sale they'll be lucky to hit 30k. I know plenty of season ticket holders who are planning to boycott the game so it could be much lower. Some of these said they would not renew so not sure how good their word is! Challenged them to leave their tickets at home when they meet up in town so they can't change their minds. Pretty lukewarm response to that idea!

Just logged on and my ticket is still available for renewal so perhaps they have extended the deadline on the quiet Unless you actually tell them you are cancelling it will be available until the end of August. I renewed mine on the 10th August last year at the box office and had this explained to me then. My DD started in September for 8 months.

For this to be considered a success you would have to ask what it would take to get these people to pack it in. In terms of how the owner is treating the fans it can't really get any worse can it? I think 30k would be success but 40k not so sure.

I've got to say that living in Wallsend and working in Killingworth (so I'm basically surrounded by NUFC fans) my experience is different. Of all the season ticket holders I Know, and I know a lot, I reckon it's more or less 50/50 in terms of people who have renewed and people who have either already cancelled or are waiting to see what happens. I'd be absolutely amazed if they shift 30k season tickets for next season. In fact if you go back to the 10/11 PL season there was only 28k season ticket holders and I reckon it could be lower than that. Pretty much the same with me. I'll be seing most of them next Saturday on our annual beer trip up the Tyne valley. I'll find out then how many of the Raffa goes we go types stick to their word. Will report back when i sober up! (think it was 7 out of 13 including me. Not counting ,daughter, wife and son in the 13 who have all cancelled along with me).

Provided you don't tell them your not renewing you have until the end of August. If your daft enough to tell them they will have from 15th July to find some mug to buy it. I renewed mine last season on 10th August and didn't start paying umtil the middle of September. I'm not telling them i will not be renewing so they will try and sell August games match to match. Good luck with that now. Also it means when they can try to sell the season ticket it will have 2 games less for the money as i don't think they reduce prices until halfway through the season. Of course it also buys you time in the unlikely event a takeover does go through to change your mind.
