I think them 'pulling out' is face saving exercise. Think they either knew were going to be knocked back or weren't willing to jump through some of the hoops, this way they're leaving 'on their own terms'. Just don't think there's any way it's down to the length of time the PL took, why wait until the seasons over then decide it's took took long when for all they knew it could have been approved tomorrow.

Didn't they say Al Rummayan would be chairman from the off? Not sure why that should be an issue or why the PL wouldn't allow someone from PIF to be involved? 'You can pay the money but can't get involved' doesn't seem right. A while back someone in here mentioned that in the tests they look into/need details of anyone who could potentially have an influence on the things going forward, I'm assuming this is just an extension of that part of the test as PIF are huge and I Imagine it's massively complicated (not to mention fuckin stupid considering it could include shit loads of people). I'm probably over-simplifying it.

It ends when the PL make a formal decision. I just cannot see the buyers giving up. Not after the time, effort and money that's gone into this. The ridiculous thing is that it seems the premier league have absolutely no obligation to make one at all if they choose not too. They would effectively be losing the Saudis their £17 million deposit though, and I don't see them being too impressed with that, imagine there would be some kind of legal action. As many have said, PIF Staveley and the Reubens are too far into this to just let it go without a whimper.
