The official game must have looked such a good idea in the first place. Who coulda guessed FIFA were a bunch of self-promoting fuck-ups? Or McDonalds, for that matter? Neither have any history of this sort of thing. Unlucky, man, you did your best -

Aye, well, there's this bollocks with round 2 starting before round 1 finishes tomorrow, so thought I'd get it sorted early. I really should stop having ideas, they're a bad thing. And there's the fourth*. FFS. *Jorman goal btw. -

Took one look at that shit and thought it was stupid tbh. Then thought it'd be a laugh and registered anyway but no way was I paying £2 to JT to pay his dealer off. It's even shitter than I thought, went to change my capitano to Messi for Round 2 and it took Neymar's points off. What the actual fuck? Reported, but with cracking on for a million players worldwide I guess they'll get quite some feedback and won't be able to handle it. Shambles. Probs wouldn't have won the dreadful prizes anyway. Got a little league going at work and I'm not even winning that Fuck do I know about football. -
I don't think it was secret. They do. http://www.fifa.com/newscentre/news/newsid=1344500/index.html

Secret ballot, wasn't it? How do you know? ARE YOU SEPP BLATTER?
-
Well, quite, it is a disgrace. Blattingtwat is 78 years of age, man. He should just fuck off at this point, to prison imo, the thief. And so should all the other thieves who've sold the next two world cups to the highest bribers. Fucking boo. BOO! FFS.

Would it not be easier to not Mot? I've hated him since 1973. Do something else.
-
Just watching the 1970 one currently. Makes you appreciate just how good some players were. Brazil's attacking force, man. Pele, Jairzinho, Tostao, Rivelino.... totally unnecessary. The England squad of 70 was better than the 66 one....had it not been for Banks being nobbled along with Ramsey not quite ever grasping substitutions, we'd have given Brazil a close game in the Final. Seen a film of this before and it's a great tournament. Is there a real conspiracy theory about this? As a wee bairn I loved the 1970 tournament like, sneaking into the living room while me parents snored to watch matches at midnight with the sound off, brilliant. We should've kept Bobby Charlton on, like. As you say, we had a better squad than in 1966.

Aye, dated but interesting imo. Posted something somewhere else saying how good Garrincha was, I'd never seen him play before. If you like your football history they're decent. That Leonel Sánchez had a cracking left uppercut on him, was impressed by that
-
Apropos of nothing, just been watching the 1958 World Cup film. All the predictable reactions from me, football was so different, ooh look, there's Sir Bobby playing, that Garrincha was quite good, if mental, fancy Wales qualifying, and then the English-as-English-can-be commentator clearly said "EN-gland" instead of pronouncing it more like "IN-gland". Over and over again. Surely that never happened even in the olden days. I spent the whole time until we got knocked out (replay, penalties hadn't been introduced for that yet) listening intently, and he was consistent with it. I even checked at the end and his name was allegedly Steve Hudson. Was suspiciously accurate with forrin names, like, I suspect he was a sort of sporting Lord Haw-Haw and turned against the EN-glisch, it was a German-made film after all. Just found it odd. Carry on.

Going by the eyes, quite a number of possessed people there.

The Cup Final used to be a fucking big deal. When I were a nipper it was more important than the league. Everyone knew who won the Cup, the league was bread and butter, but the Cup was the Golden Chalice. Fucking Skypounds have fucked it all up. Grumpyarse here.
-
Aye. Back in the day the only live club football you could watch was the FA Cup Final and the European Cup Final. This is progress that I am willing to accept.
-
I'll be rooting for the Redbirds in this one.

Ah, man, when KK left after 96 that was as close as I've ever been to tears in my adult life. I remember one of the (season-ticket holding) lasses asking who I wanted next, and I pretty much blubbed that I just wanted Kevin back. Broke my heart when he left. She reassured me that men are all the same, the bastards . I cried inside though. Now, and I'm going out on a limb here, I grew up expecting nothing from the club except mediocrity, and I wasn't disappointed. From the day my dad first took me our finishes were 11th, 8th, 15th, 15th, 15th, 5th (yay!), RELEGATED (oh, ffs), 30th, 31st, 33rd, 31st, 27th, 25th (PROMOTED!), 14th, 11th, 17th, 8th, RELEGATED, CHEATED, 33rd, you'll get the picture. That's just the first 20 years. When KK blew into town the whole thing changed. He saved us from certain relegation, got us promoted, then The Entertainers era was born. The happiest day of my life (I hope Mrs n never reads this) was in the boozer after a match when I told everyone I could now die happy because we were literally the best team in the world, and everyone was fine with that. We killed back in the day. I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

That's a bit harsh to kick the day off with.

Just watched the Hull - Sheffield United FACSF. I'm not very convinced that Clarke Carlisle is the cleverest footballer ever. Good enough for ITV viewers, like.
