And that’s even if we have the money to spend as big as City or Chelsea did back then. Like I’ve said before, we don’t really know how much PIF is prepared to give us and just because they are super rich with almost limitless resources it really doesn’t mean we are.

What did she say beyond we want to be pushing for champions league in X years? I don’t remember her saying we’re the richest club in the world and we’re going to spend x millions. If anything she’s consistent pushed the slow build with a set budget line.

Its PIF/ Saudi that’s rich, doesn’t mean that we are. This window was always going to be the barometer as to how much of that gets invested in us. We may have to temper our expectations a bit.

Id be happy with this for sure. But my preference is a top quality winger who can also play as a striker if/ when Wilson gets injured, as they would also hopefully be contributing goals as a winger. Trouble is I’m not sure that top quality player exists who is both within our budget, available and wants to come here.
