It would be a huge step forward and give some hope. I think Ashley will do his best to scupper it somehow. Yep, this is the worry. This tactics already scuppered a deal with a Canadian consortium a few years back according to Geordie Dentist. They pulled out as the price and terms kept going up and up when thy thought the deal was as good as complete.

As said before, I think the "other party" reports are more likely to be the fabrication by Ashley's camp, an attempt to leverage more money or retain rights by threatening to sell to other bidders if they don't compromise. You seriously think Ashley has got the BZG by the short and curlies and they are just helping him along with the scam? Eh? He’s not saying that

Me too, I have been keeping as busy as possible and day dreaming a bit. Its about this time I start looking forward to our friendlies, 5 mill players and loan signings. A bit of a void at the minute. I think it’s worse because Rafa drew me back in. The club was dead behind the eyes before he came and Rafa reanimated the corpse and showed us what we already knew about it’s potential if things were done right. Feels somehow worse now than it was before when I was cheering us losing to get rid of that clown Pardew and his travelling circus.

This sort of shit is almost as likely to scupper any deal as any Ashley fuckwittery. Texting and phoning the guy when it’s midnight his time ffs. Why he ever replied to anyone random is also beyond me however, politeness or not. Shows a distinct lack of judgement in my opinion. Having been born in the U.K. he must have known that he’d get bombarded by messages as soon as he’d set a precedent by messaging a few people back.

Hughton is an intelligent man. He won't come back. This will never happen. Ashley didn’t like Hughton because he was too close to the players committee and I can’t see a principled man like Hughton working for Ashley and especially after being sacked by him once already. Not a chance of this in my opinion.
