NFL is lethal. Tailgate first, then get in the ground and just get tanked up for 3.5 hours. Although I think you get restricted to one beer per person from the 3rd quarter and no beers in the 4th quarter. The damage has already been done

Read something online that apparently he mentioned the studs and achilles to the VAR team. Which is why they would not entertain overturning it. But not sure how anyone will have heard the audio already?
-
Michael Brown and Hutchison on 5Live were advocating for an ex-pro always being present in the VAR room. As they would be able to say very quickly whether the player has ‘gone in to do him’ or not. They then went on to say neither of them know the rules. But it’s not about that and it wouldn’t be what they’re there for. I’ve often thought about the merits of having ex-pros involved more in some capacity. But this was probably the worst put forward argument I’ve heard. Makes me think they should be kept well away Also. I don’t think Lewis-Skelly has gone TO DO HIM. But he has and you can easily argue the reckless/endangering an opponent bit. So then their whole stupid argument falls down.

Hopefully Sky catch him on camera in the stands laughing as we score our 3rd. Let me dream

Tempted to back Atalanta at 100/30.

Dunno. Bit of this. Bit of that.

Well I don’t know about everyone else. But I for one am loving this transfer window. I’m booked in for my accountancy exams off the back of this. I’m sure I’ll pass with flying colours.

Going to Hull on loan I think it said on SSN? Get him some exposure and look to sell for a profit or get him some more experience and then bring him back into the fold? He's 21, so you'd think they'd be wanting to make a decision soon one way or the other.
-
Yep. Just because he played as a sort of second striker/10 in the MLS. Doesn't mean he was ever going to play as one here. His lack of assists, the constant running into blind alleys, lack of key passes and general pass appreciation. Leads me to believe he would have been dreadful as a number 10 here in a proper league. Not that we have played with a recognised number 10/AM type since he's been here, anyway. The most promising role he had. Was that very short period where he and Perez played off Rondon. More centrally, admittedly and they weren't playing as wingers/wide forwards. Perhaps closer to what Wolves do or even Amorim with his two number 10s. But I can't say I remember him ever looking creative or incisive during that spell or during his entire time here, even.

Forest v Brighton Bournemouth v Liverpool Arsenal v City With the run we have coming up. A win here and results going our way elsewhere. Then we can go into this tough 3 league game stretch in a really strong position. Obviously it’s really tight and a couple of good/bad results for anyone in this group from 3rd to 8th will mean moving about a good few places.

They have. But apparently if they appeal, it then goes to said panel of ex-pros. I'm sure I read that this morning when I was skimming an article on it. So PGMOL can stand by their man and their decision. But it can still get rescinded on appeal.
-
You only have to look back as far as this season to see a worse red card decision. If it is club specific. Then it's the Schar red card. Especially if I read it right that the appeals panel is made up of ex-pros? All this talk about malice, intent, endangering an opponent,, excessive force etc. Which one is worse out of the Lewis-Skelly challenge and the Schar one? One is a blatant trip with the ball nowhere near and he has ended up studding him in the leg and down onto his ankle/achilles. The other is a fairly common 'U WOT M8?!' face to face that you get in football every other week. Stupid from Schar to get involved, but even so. Schar's didn't get rescinded. But I'm assuming this one will be. Due to all the hyperbole around it online and all the usual talking heads coming out with outrageous shite like 'it's the worst decision in the Premier League's history' or words to that effect. Fuck me Shearer is a dullard as a pundit.

You been to Spurs? I wouldn't say the quantity, quality or locality (is that even a word) of the pubs is even comparable. It's a right shithole.

Any rumours? No? Just more spreadsheet wankery. Every fucking thread, I swear.

I was waiting for the drop. But it never came. Paul Johnson will be turning in his grave

Nah. I can’t see it. Can’t remember him ever playing there under Howe. He looked bad at RCM the few times he’s played there, from memory. Only the left centre mid or that shared, hybrid sort of LCM/LW role with Big Joe really seems to suit him. I would say the Big Joe/Little Joe left side would be more likely again. Although Gordon does seem to pout when he plays right wing. That left side was crucial at times in our 4th placed season and I still think it could be used to great effect in certain games. One of those social media statto types calls it something like “where opposition right hand sides go to die” As of right now. I think Joelinton is next man up for that side and then Gordon. Although Howe seems reluctant to play him there and I get the impression Gordon doesn’t want to play there, either.

It’s brutal. I’m sure it was quite exciting at times when we were down there and we were given a run for our money in a lot of games. This season it seems like a load of teams that would usually be in and around the play-offs. With no standouts to really push clear and assert themselves as the best. Every time I catch a game it’s proper dirge and awful quality. Maybe the gap is just getting bigger every year and it’s becoming more noticeable. Fuck knows.

Maybe if Kelly goes, as well. If not, then I think a last minute loan with an obligation to buy is the best we can hope for

Just to follow on from this and the wider point @Heron was making. I am in no way saying he is as bad as Ashley. I don’t even think they would say that if they looked into it in any detail at all. I’m not saying it is a subject I am really well versed in. I just have a lot of Spurs supporting mates. When you see their revenues, how well supported they are, their ticket prices, money that was brought in from player sales, the wages they pay/don’t pay etc. Their owner clearly lacks ambition and drive to try and get Spurs to push onto that next level. Despite having the ability to do so. So yes. In a shiny new stadium and with a lot more money. I do think there are some similarities to how Ashley ran NUFC. Albeit their version is diamond encrusted and in a platinum coated stadium. I think this all pre-dates said new stadium and the debt on that, however. Ask @leffe186 I’m sure he’ll be able to give a much more insightful opinion.
-
I’m not going to slate him. He never phoned it in and always tried hard. Didn’t have the talent of so many of our previous so called superstars who then flopped here. But twice the workrate and the right attitude. But I’m not going to sugarcoat it, either. His numbers for a wide forward/winger are absolutely atrocious. Bar that half a season and the odd game. I can’t say I’ve particularly enjoyed watching him. Also, it’s not his fault. But like quite a few of our players. Such as Wilson, Ritchie and even Dummett to a lesser extent. He has stayed here too long and the recency bias of how bad and past it he now looks hasn’t helped the situation.
-
Hopefully he carries on with those, slow, clipped, sort of crosses to nobody all game. Like he did tonight.
-
Game on the line. Let’s work the ball to Calvin Bassey so he can punt it into the box. He’s great with his passing
-
I know it got chalked off. But he has an incredible knack of looking crap all game. But scoring important goals.
