  1. Give it a chance, first 15 minutes of a game are always up in the air.
  2. Pards hair is untidy, think he's feeling the pressure. /folliclelanguage
  3. 3:30am now, was thinking to go to bed until I saw that. Work tomorrow
  4. That looks good :-) Think we could give them a hammering tonight.
  5. I'd be intrigued to know of any non-European based defenders are you may be advocating here? No idea tbh, I just thought there would be at least one or two from outside of europe in the top twenty.
  6. Am I mistaken or is this a fifa thing and not a uefa thing? Just wondering because all of the shortlisted players play in europe.

I think that's just human nature to be honest. I can sympathise because I'm terrible at it myself - if anyone criticises this post for instance I'm liable to have a right strop. Or maybe sulk. You should do with that sentence. Comma's boy, use them ahem

Why does everything that happens have to be an excuse to have a go at "some people on here"? You mean, some people in the world, some people who have a different view to you. Incredible really. "Some people" who were wrong at the time and are even more wrong now. Not naming any names, of course... You didn't really get my question. Doesn't matter like. You could just admit you were wrong about it... As if. I'm only playing, dawg. My point is that most people (everywhere) realised we'd need a bigger squad than what we have now to compete in at least 2 competitions and it was just brushed under the carpet by Pardew when it didn't happen. Now it's dawned on him, when we're 12th, that a few more players would be helpful. Coincidence or stupidity? I don't think its either tbh. AP has to live with our transfer policy or go elsewhere. That policy has done him some real favours in the past but last time round it came up short. So he has his own internal battles to fight with Ashley/Llambias and whingeing about his squad in public after the August transfer window wouldn't have done him or the club any good. But he's winging about it now after saying it was brilliant a few months ago. He knows more than anyone how all that stuff works and it's only now a problem when we're/he's doing badly. If we were currently top 6 I doubt he'd be banging this particular drum. There's a transfer window coming up and he's making his case for investment. Leading up to and during the summer transfer window he did the same. He didn't get it then because the club couldn't sign the players it had as targets due to its refusal to break the transfer policy. He had to publicly endorse his squad after the window, what else could he do? Lets see what happens in January..... Is this the new 'wait until the end of the window, still months/weeks/days left yet'? Nothing else we can really do but wait and see but I hope he's knocking their door down for a CB, a RB and someone to play on the left of a front three. Yes Tbf we have done decent business in the January window before. We have. I'm hoping we might jump on some of the targets whose contracts are expiring in the summer so we can nip in before there's more teams in for them on a free.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing if you use it. And yes, people do think you should be doing something, you're the manager.

Nobody is forcing us to play different systems in europe and the league, that's his choice. If it's hindering our preparation then maybe we should stop doing it. I'm a firm believer that we should work on our own game and let the opposition worry about us rather than preparing to shut them down. How many times have we looked out of ideas, lost and disjointed when attacking? That to me points to a lack of preparation in how we want to play.
  15. Have we had the obligatory 'getting sold in january so we dont want to risk him' conspiracy theory yet? Big blow losing him for so long, I don't think we have another midfielder who can do his job. Maybe Marveaux could step in and shine? Amalfitano is the only other one off the top of my head as Bigi and Anita seem to be more defensively minded.

Exactly, it training was geared towards playing our game instead of how to stop whatever opposition we have then it wouldn't be a problem.

Team vs Brugge: Krul; Tavernier, Colo, Williamson, Anita; Bigi, Marveaux, Tiote, Obertan, Sameobi; Shola. Team vs West Ham: Krul; Simpson, Williamson, S Taylor, Santon; Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Gutierrez ©, Ferguson; Cisse, Ba Only two players played the full ninety minutes of both games and we were playing at home so no travelling. Saylor played forty two minutes vs Brugge, Cabaye played eighteen minutes. It just doesn't wash for me.

You cant be too careful after we let Masterplank hang around for so long. Innocent until proven a complete mentalist bellend I say.

Does seem a shame that we have posters from so many other clubs and nobody from our closest rivals.

My god, are our memories really so short we're thinking of Obertan as a decent option. He's shown nothing in the PL, he's been a useless liability everytime he's been on the pitch. Just because you haven't seen him for a while doesn't mean he's got any better.

Is there any thread that comment would be inappropriate in?

Bit more worrying that he sees Obertan as a potential solution for something.
