Would it be more fun to beat them off the back of two good results when their hopes are up and overconfidence is blooming or to grind their faces further into the dust after losing to Wigan and City? I think the latter for me
  5. Mostly in response to that loki dude, you're well kosher, man. Yeah, when i'd sobered up the next day and thought about it I realised it wasnt such a bad result. I think it was just the disappointment of not winning such a winnable game that pissed me off more than anything.
  6. Because all foreign teams you've not heard are automatically s*** you big dafty. English teams RULE IDEMT. How many portugese league matches did you watch last season? Enough to know it wouldn't be a walkover with all our top level players not playing. I fully expect us to win at home though. Really? I've watched Maritimo a lot over the last few years, they're p*ss just like any portugese side outside Benfica, Porto and maybe Braga. We just drew nil nil with burnley. Does that make Sporting, who got to the Europa league semi final last year, the equivalent of someone like Cardiff? Righto Aye, Warsaw, Vaslui, Metalist and Zurich were really tough games. Canny result against City though.
  7. I gamble, you end up watching a lot of funny teams and get to know them.

  9. You're going to be very disappointed then. You're going to be very disappointed then. Been a newcastle fan for thirty years, i'm used to that, doesn't change anything.

  11. A point away in the group stages is more than enough. If our fringe players can do that it's fully understandable that there's some shuffling amongst players. All teams do it. Really don't get that attitude unless we start doing it in the late knock-out stages and the likes. Wait until Man Utd next week. The League Cup 1969

  13. Just glad we're focusing on the league so we might be able to get a place in europe and be uncompetitive again next year.

Carrying a bit of timber there.
  15. I wouldn't say excellent considering the level of the opposition. For a reserve team they're doing ok. They're the fifth best team in Portugal. Outside of Benfica and Porto Portugese football is pretty woeful. This lot are championship standard.

  17. Well, we've won so many trophies in the last fifty years obviously the europa is beneath us. We are desperate to win a trophy so we'll concentrate on the premier league, madness.
  18. It does piss me off a little when they're doing that and then basically behaving like footballers in their private lives but Demba seems to be genuinely devout and so I wouldn't put him in that category. Same with Hernandez at Man Utd.
  19. He does seem to move clubs fairly often. His longest spell was at Hoffenheim but even there he was supposed to move to Stuttgart after two seasons but the move fell through. Could be his agents are moving him around frequently to generate lots of juicy commissions and signing on fees.

Shirley should be 'Alan Pardew defends NUFC transfer inactivity'
  21. I'm interested, no need to be an arse if you aren't.

    sunderland

Which is completely acceptable of course, because Ponteyland isn't in Newcastle. Just like 'Ponteyland Airport', Marra! I wish we were a proper city with an airport, with planes touching down on Northumberland Street. Would make the city much nicer. I'd love to see someone from RTG draw up a town plan for the redevelopment of sunderland. 9-1 FTM spelt out in buildings?
