    Ryan Taylor

He's another one who's turned his career here around. Real shame he's going to be out for so long, I thinnk he would have got quite a few games this season.
  2. Lille president Michel Seydoux said: "Our price is £6m, because he is a quality player and we need to find a good replacement in the transfer market." That's a quote from the mirror.
  3. Totally different situation. Freiburg were getting relegated and desperately needed money to strengthen. Lille have a decent team, champions league money and have no such worries.
  4. The Debuchy one does annoy me. If Lille had been demanding crazy money for him then i'd fully support the club in walkng away but their price was very reasonable. We lost the chance to signiificantly improve the weakest part of our side because they seemed to want to take the piss and get a bargain.

    Players in public

Jesus, looks like he's visiting the shire
  6. Very true. This whole deadline day thing is spoiling Europa Cup day for me You said it was rubbish to suggest the players might be upset about the lack of ambition and they'd just get on with it like normal adults. In the situation you mentioned it ended up with us losing Enrique and Barton and the club captain publically criticising the club leadership. Doesn't sound like 'just getting on with it' to me.
  7. Exactly, they will dissapointed with the lack of activity. Aye just like last summer when we failed to replace Carroll and that excuse was no doubt laughably used then only for us to go unbeaten for 11 games or whatever......... We signed Ba. So the club and manager never once made any reference to the fact we would reinvest the Carroll money for another striker to replace him? Ba isnt an answer ffs considering that Cisse was the eventual replacement. The money was invested in all areas though, this time we have done nothing in the key areas we needed. Stop ignoring the point. The club and Pardew made endless statements about replacing Carroll and this forum wasnt happy we didnt. Pardew certainly did yes, we certainly got lucky with it, and made a great start, which in turn led to a great season. That doesn't mean it will work the same again, the league on a whole has gotten alot stronger. That wasnt the point you made. You said they would be upset at the summer transfers/lack of ambition when its rubbish to suggest it. The fact the previous summer had a similar thing(and after the Carroll sale for that matter) and we got on with it like normal adults says far more than your amateur psychology Wasn't that one of the reasons Enrique wanted to leave?
  8. Moutinho to spurs? 22m being quoted
  9. Impossible today? Well, yes, it's the last day of the window. Maybe if we'd sorted it out sometime in the last three months we've had to do it then we wouldn't be in this situation.
  10. It's bollocks. He wouldn't take a seventy five percent pay cut to come here. He's on about 150k a week at city.
  11. Steve Bruce? Was quality in his day.
  12. Ronaldo looks like he's on a tube train and two teenagers are making out next to him. It's the vacant, eyes straight forward 'I can't see it, i'm not looking, ffs, when's my stop?' look.

    Four MASSIVE months

Michael Owen. 5 year deal, ninety grand a week.
  14. They are all over the board since yesterday. About 10 pages or more back in this thread It's a load of wank. Like any club is gonna get on the phone one day before the deadline saying 'hey, come get this guy, we'll give him to you really cheap'. It's just bollocks, we're done for this window.
  15. Danny Guthrie's bulked up a bit. More worried about the psycho looking guy in glasses who appears to be indicating he's going to cut something off one of them.
  16. What does that actually mean? If they move, how can we be triggered? He's not the most eloquent English speaker. This is in relation to his comment about our targets being secure at their clubs. If that changes, we'll make our moves. I think it's like Jurassic Park when they're in the car and the T Rex is wandering around. Just stay still and they can't see you. If they move then they suddenly appear to us and we can chase them down and crunch their bones.
  17. All much better than what we have. Have you seen Shola's injury record? He's injured now actually. First part is obviously debatable, especially with the players we could play off Shola in comparison to them. Outside of that, you're basking in negativity. Best got injured all the time aswell, would you want a 5th striker then? Lets not consider the injury records of our other strikers in comparison either, because everyones going to get injured regardless obviously & we need to throw money at it. Again, read what I've posted. I've said we need a replacement for best only 2-3M not a 12M striker hardly throwing money around. Basking in negativity, if we go through a injury crisis upfront I'll be reminding you of all of this. Replacement for Best suggests you were happy with Best, a guy who you just said earlier was out for the 2nd half of the season. But to you Shola isnt a solid enough option as he has a dodgy injury record. Solid talk as always. A replacement for a player that's left the squad shows I was happy with Best. Laughable. Here's a tip, search google for the word SQUAD. You need to learn about it. Be careful when you type though. Without safesearch you'll get some disturbing results if you accidentally put 'SQUAT'.
  18. Nobody has said to sign players just for the hell of it. Taylor or Colo gets injured and we're back to Williamson so it would be nice to have another decent CB in. Simpson is the weak link so we needed a right back. We've lost Best and Lovenkrands so our third choice striker is now Shola, we could have strengthened there. Sensible squad strengthening, nothing football manager about it.
  19. This transfer policy only works if you actually sign players. It was great last summer because we got a lot of our targets 'over the line'. When it means we sign only one player who could maybe be considered a first team regular then it's failed and we've gone backwards relative to the teams around us who have strengthened.
  20. Should have had this one done weeks ago.

    sunderland

that would be cattermole as the holding player behind 5 players with no defensive intention at all ? Artie will have the irish lad whose name i can never remember tracking back to help out, he's got a good engine on him. Johnson should also drop back to cover ahead of the full back too. Sessegnon and Dempsey as normal central mids when they don't have the ball, effectively playing a standard four-five-one without the ball and a sort of four-three-three with it.

    sunderland

Dempsey would be a cracking signing for them. Their defence is still a bit shoddy and old but up front and in midfield they'll have the makings of a decent outfit as long as Artie uses them properly. Can see Dempsey and Sessegnon playing advanced midfield behind Fletcher with Johnson and the irish lad up the wings. Catts for me like as the holding midfielder behind them. Not a bad setup really.
  23. The food might be good but what's the chef's record on pelanties like?
