Yeah exactly, why does it have to always be a punt upfield where there's a very high chance we'll lose the ball? Just don't get it.

Couldn't believe what I was watching. I can't remember how many times we played it back to Krul, who punted it upfield and we lost possession. Is that Pardew's instructions or what? Because I don't know why anybody would keep on doing that, why can't we throw it out to the defenders and keep the ball on the floor? I know we have crap fullbacks, (excluding Santon), but we can surely try and play it out from the back a bit when we have the time? The other baffling decision was picking Vuckic over Ben Arfa, I just don't get that. I really like Vuckic, but for me Ben Arfa had to start that game, coming on at 70 minutes to try and win the game away from home and already losing is pathetic, what the hell does Pardew expect? Like others have said, I'm starting to get really frustrated with Pardew at the moment, the decision making and the negative attitude last night really annoyed me. He needs to buck his ideas up if we're to get anything from Man U next week.

Was over the moon when he scored yesterday, knocked me bubble and squeek on the floor but I did not give a shit. Really hope he can nail a starting spot now and cause havoc to the Liverpool defence next game!

Very much so. One of my favourite things about the Christmas period, coming home and watching copious amounts of football on my parents unnecessarily big TV. Was just saying in the TOG thread the games chosen today are bordering on criminal. A Fat Sam side followed by Pulis and McLeish's, really? That's the best you could do? Anti-football to the max. Madness. I know I usually moan about 'bigger' teams being on telly a lot, but during Christmas you'd think they'd have a few 'showcase' games. Indeed, feels strange not having game after game to look forward to on Boxing Day :/

Has a lot to answer for. Starting with the Santon sub, okay if the kid was injured fair enough but otherwise, what in the hell was that? Ben Arfa has to start ahead of Best now for me, didn't even notice Best except for when he was offside for Ba's "goal". As has been mentioned countless times, the high line tactic, really? Why do that? Like I said in the match thread, I'm losing some faith in him at present where I've usually been quite supportive of him.

Very much agree.

We simply won't progress with a fullback who can't keep the ball on the deck for 5 seconds. Not saying we should get rid, because I very much doubt we can find a better replacement with this regime, but for me he is a huge weak link in what is otherwise a promising team. Very frustrating.

WHERE'S THE MARKING?!? Fuck sake.
-
Great. Raylor long ball. Seriously if Santon isn't injured that has to go down as the worst sub ever.
-
KEEP IT ON THE DECK SIMMO! My word is he thick as fuck or what?!

Losing some faith in Pardew here. Last few games he's made some shocking decisions.

Samba having a crack at LW?

Is that you, Fat Sam? Which teams in the Premier League don't defend from the front these days? I bet you can't name one. Everton, cos they don't have any strikers. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRGDm0iXw0HtuJsWxExgQEZCsIfF95Uk9TMlUL57fS8k42EQxlpnDeQ9EM

Jonas on the right, Ben Arfa on the left. Would be what 99% of us would do, however with Pardew seemingly not budging on his stance of Ben Arfa not playing on the wing, it's not going to happen

At the end of the day, Pardew is giving him a proper run in the side which he hasn't had for a few years now whilst at Man U. Obertan is having his first real crack at the Prem with us, so I believe it will take a bit more time for him. Against Stoke, I thought he played his role superbly well, hitting them on the counter with his pace and actually using the ball well. If we can get more of those performances, then I'm sure opinions on here would change. As it stands aswell, who else can actually do a job out on the RW apart from Ben Arfa, who hasn't got a chance in hell of playing there? I get as frustrated with him as everybody does, but I won't write him off just yet.

Not so sure about this one, we never seem to be able to beat these for one reason or another. However what I've seen from them this season, they don't look anything special at all. I do think however it will be another frustrating affair, hopefully this time we can take our chances. 2-0
