When ASM was starting games and playing well, we had Joelinton at left centre midfield and he covered most of the defensive work for that flank. The winger needs to be able to press, but in most games we don’t need to have someone tracking back all the time if Joelinton’s in midfield.

we have looked a lot more dangerous when Willock has been on the left and Joelinton in midfield. Most of our attacks seem to have come from Willock.

Wilson doesn’t look fit to me

I think the past few games have shown we need someone in midfield who can put the ball in the net. We’ve had so many missed chances. Willock, Longstaff, Joelinton and Anderson have all had incredible chances to score and fluffed it. Maddison is the one, I think.
