I honestly can’t believe anyone could watch yesterday’s game and decide that taking Foden out of the team is the answer

We were so slow with the ball. It was a problem all night and then we made it worse by taking the one player off who was looking to move it quickly (Foden). I know he was off it in the first game, but felt as though we missed Walker too. The full backs seemed to be underlapping and I don’t think either Shaw or James really knew what to do. Walker is a risk taker and actually has quite penetrative passing when he’s playing well. That’s why Pep is happy to play him inside. I would consider dropping Rice out and putting Phillips into DM for the next game. Play Foden as the 8 and get Sancho in the team out wide.

Rice has been really poor. Would put Grealish on for him and drop Phillips to DM. Kane absolutely embarrassing.

Italy look pretty good but they’ve not played anyone decent for (literally) years. The Netherlands are the best team they’ve played since 2018, and they’re not exactly great. I’ve a feeling they’ll get taken apart by someone like France or a more possession-hungry side like Spain.

Switzerland’s back three is pretty unorthodox to watch. Schar is central but by far the most aggressive/advanced of the three.

It was exactly the sort of performance England have been incapable of for ages tbh. I was impressed (surprised) with how well drilled we were. Only criticisms would be that a) Foden was wasted being so rigidly stuck out wide right. No coincidence that we scored shortly after he decided to be a bit more flexible and b) Harry Kane was really poor and didn't look fit/interested. He was sluggish all game and even when he had his chance to score he was so slow to get to the ball.

Yeah, he’s another (along with Coady) who would be safer in a back three. I thought that was the whole reason for taking him, but here he is starting in a 4. We’ve even had to put Tripper in next to him to hold his hand.

This Russia team look totally unprepared. Absolutely loads of space for Belgium all over the pitch.

Honestly feel like I need counselling after that. Goodness knows what the players must be feeling.

The Swiss side feels like it has several red cards in it. I think it'll be fun.

Problem is lack of wide players actually willing to stretch the opposition. At least one of Sterling/Sancho/Rashford has to start for us in the competitive games.

Everyone outside of Man City has been a disgrace
